Blog Tour – Turning Point by Tiffany A. Snow (Review & Interview)

Book: Turning Point

Author: Tiffany A. Snow

Series: Kathleen Turner #3

Purchase at: Amazon ~ Barnes and Nobel

After her promotion from law firm Runner to Investigator, Kathleen Turner is learning the ropes of her new job from none other than assassin-for-hire Kade Dennon, a situation her boyfriend Blane Kirk is none too happy about. But the lessons with Kathleen take a back seat when Kade becomes a target. Previously untouchable, his enemies now know of the chink in his armor – his brother’s girlfriend.

And Kade’s not the only thing coming between Kathleen and Blane. From Blane’s inexplicable defense of a man guilty of a horrible crime, to a mysterious stranger from Kathleen’s past, to Kathleen’ risky investigation into human traffickers, the obstacles mount against a relationship that’s just begun to find trust again.

While Blane considers a job offer that would take him back to the front lines in the war on terror, Kathleen is determined to pursue her new career, with or without his approval. Unfortunately, her current case is far more dangerous than anyone knows. Someone close to Blane will go to extreme lengths to split them up, lengths that may prove worse than death for Kathleen.

Kathleen, Blane and Kade must atone for the sins of the past and the present. The fallout will force Kathleen to a turning point…in her career, and her life.

~Our Thoughts~

WOW! Okay so after reading right through I thought that I would be able to pretty much predict what was going to happen and well for some of it I was able to, but there are many points in this one that had me at a loss. I kicked myself for waiting for sol long to read these and I am also kind of glad that I waited because I was able to read all 3 back to back because I did wait. I think for me this one was my favorite! I got a nice mix of both Blane and Kade but I have to say that in the end I was happy with how things ended in it. I was left wanting more as always and wanting so desperately for Kade to move in. Kathleen is so set on NOT coming between the brothers though, so that puts a kink in MY plans for her. heehee.

There were so many moments that Kade had me cracking up, the sexual tension was driving me UP THE WALL!!! I want her to be happy with Blane because well that is who she has chosen but how can she not want Kade, but he knows that in reality she deserves better.

“Neither Blane nor I are your happily-ever-after, princess. Blane will break your heart, and I’m the guy your mom warned you about. Don’t kid yourself about that.”

The problem that I did have with it was at this point I felt like the relationship with Kathleen and Blane felt like it was kinda of over, like he just wasn’t all that much into her. I felt like he was more into himself then their relationship, and she was so torn between what she felt for Blane and what she felt for Kade, and big surprise she DOES NOT listen when they tell her to do one thing she goes and does the opposite it seems like BUT it makes for a great story!

There is an OMG moment (or at least I thought that it was) that just brought things to a turn and leaves you not sure where things will go. (yes I had a ohhhh that’s why she named the book that!) ALL I know is that I NEED the next one!!! I don’t want to wait until December but that is what I will have to do! 😦

This one goes much deeper on a subject matter that may be difficult for some to read. It is NEVER okay nor is it ever acceptable on ANY circumstance! (I do not want to give spoilers so I will not put exactly what it is but once you read you will know what I mean.)

4.5 stars

Wow!! Another great book in the Kathleen Turner series! So much action, romance, betrayal, and love. Let me just start by saying I would not want to be in her shoes having to try to pick between Blane and Kade! Blane is a successful, handsome, sexy man who loves Kathleen. Kade is his dark, sexy brother who wants her as well. Kade is constantly testing and teasing her, but she is one strong woman to turn him down so often! She doesnt want to come between brothers, but there is an obvious attraction to both men.
I love the action and the suspense of these books. But, that being said, how many times can one person get into a situation to get banged in the head and black out in one lifetime?? I mean come on! Maybe if she listened to the men in her life warning her, she wouldnt fall into the crazy stuff she does as often! And how she manages to live and not get too seriously injured is beyond me.
And of course what series would be complete without yet another cliff hanger after a heart wrenching event? Yep that’s right. Tiffany Snow leaves us hanging for the 4th book in the series. But she does tease us a bit with the 1st chapter!
Overall I really liked this book and was happy with how it flowed. Now, I’ll have to patiently wait for the 4th installment to see what happens next!

Thank you to Momma’s Books for hosting me on the blog tour for TURNING POINT, the third book in The Kathleen Turner Series. There will be a total of five books in the series.

Book four, OUT OF TURN, will be released on 12/17/13.

For this blog stop, Momma was kind enough to ask a few questions (which always helps since I never know what to write on these things!). So thank you and here they are!

Q: How did you come up with the characters?

A: Kathleen Turner is a bit of an homage to one of my favorite literary characters of all time – Nancy Drew. An amateur sleuth (emphasis on amateur), Kathleen is someone I wanted people to be able to relate to. She’s not a city girl, being from the Midwest, and “big city” to her is Indianapolis, the location for the series. Nice, sweet, loyal, trusting, pretty – Kathleen is all these things. She’s someone who could be your best friend, your neighbor, your sister, or yourself. She’s a bit naïve, a bit too trusting and yet, at the same time, not trusting enough, with a big heart.

Blane and Kade are two sides of the same coin. Alpha-males with a penchant for danger, an overprotective streak, sexy as sin and both with an eye for Kathleen. However, while Blane is a Navy SEAL turned attorney, Kade works on the opposite side of the law as a hired assassin. As with so many men, their careers affect their lives, character and the people they love. To finish it off – they’re brothers. Loyalty is a theme that runs throughout the series and I explore what that means for Kathleen as well as for the brothers.

Q: What do you do when you get writer’s block?

A: I’m constantly asking myself the question “What happens next?” Coming up with that takes some time. When I find myself in need of inspiration, I like to find a “theme song” that helps me get inside the characters’ heads, to feel what they’re feeling. A theme song I listened to many times while writing TURNING POINT was “For You” by Keith Urban. I felt it helped me get into Blane’s head. As I’m writing OUT OF TURN (book four in the series), I find myself drawn to “Whataya Want From Me” by Adam Lambert and “More Than a Memory” by Garth Brooks.

Q: What is your favorite thing about writing?

A: All my life I’ve read voraciously and it’s given me hours and hours of entertainment, pleasure and escape. It’s such a wonderful thing now to be able to write my own world and offer that same entertainment, pleasure and escape to others. It’s kind of my way of “paying it forward.” One of the best emails I ever received was from a woman who was going through cancer treatment and said it was so wonderful for her to be able to escape her own life for a few hours and delve into Kathleen’s. To hear that I was able to offer that to her, a complete stranger, was the most wonderful feeling.

Q: When did you know that writing was what you wanted to do?

A: Not until very recently, actually. I never really considered writing a book as something I could do, at least, not until I sat down and tried. To my surprise, I not only could write a whole book, I really enjoyed the process. Once I wrote that first book, writing got in my blood and I haven’t stopped.

Q: Do you have a set number of books for the series?

A: Yes. I love reading series of books where it’s the same characters, but one of my pet peeves are series that continue way past the time they should (at least in my opinion). I didn’t want The Kathleen Turner Seriesto be one of those. So I decided at the outset how many books there would be and that was that. They are:

1. No Turning Back

2. Turn to Me

3. Turning Point

4. Out of Turn (12/17/13)

5. Point of No Return (TBD)
