War veteran Kennedy O’Brien is in the business of sticking it to the man—or at least any man who tries to cross a woman. After she returned home from Afghanistan and caught her husband in bed with the nanny, Kennedy lost her faith in men and started Fool Me Once Investigations with her two best friends. After all, there’s no better bounty hunter than a woman scorned.

When Kennedy takes a case to slap cuffs on a bail jumper turned dog-napper, she figures it’ll be an easy paycheck. But trouble has a way of finding Kennedy. Enter the last man on the planet she’d willingly choose as a partner: her cheating ex-husband’s best friend, Griffin Crawford.

As gorgeous as he is unwelcome, Griffin has always had a thing for Kennedy, and after keeping quiet about her ex’s cheating, he’ll do anything to earn back her trust. Whether or not she wants to admit it, Kennedy will need help as the case of the Chihuahua thief spirals out of control. Griffin may be just her man—in more ways than one.

I was hearing nothing but good things about this one. Heard that we get to get some of her humor in this one. I was excited about that alone! I would read anything she wrote if we get to get some of her humor. Some may say it can be sick or twisted and that for me is the best type of humor and the only to have.

I have read that some said it is like the Stephanie Plum series, but I have not read them so I have nothing to compare them to. Which I guess works to my benefit. I enjoyed this one. It made me giggle and some parts I full on laughed. I LOVED her dad! That, I think for me was some of the funniest parts. There were a few that may have been as some say “over the top” but being the klutz that I am, I can totally see some of those things happening to me.

I enjoyed it probably more than some, but I was in need for a quick funny read and for me this delivered. I have read another book she did that was more on the serious side so she is capable of doing something other than a whole book that makes you laugh the entire way through, or a book like this that has you wondering what is going to happen because the heroin is a PI/bounty hunter who is after a guy who didn’t show up for court. So this had some comical moments (okay, quite a few) but it was after all, about her trying to get her bounty.

If you are looking for something that is light, funny and quick. This is a good choice! If you are a fan of Tara’s you will like this. I have come to enjoy her books. I still have one other series by her. I am sure she won’t disappoint, because she has yet to do so.

About Momma's Books

Found my new love for books when a good friend sent me the Sookie books and I was stuck in a paranormal state and only wanted that then I came across Shayla Black and read her Wicked Lovers Series which got me into the contemporary romance with a "twist" and since then I have just been a reading fanatic! And LOVE every minute of my escape from reality. View all posts by Momma's Books
