Title: Pearl

Author: Arianne Richmonde

Purchase:  Amazon  ~  Amazon UK  ~  Nook  ~  B&N  ~  Paperback

10 synopsis

The book that Pearl Series fans have been asking for: the flip side of the tale. The story according to Alexandre Chevalier.

At only twenty-five, Alexandre Chevalier is a billionaire. His social media site, HookedUp, is more popular than Twitter, more global than Facebook. With his drop-dead gorgeous looks, alluring charm and wealth, he has women falling at his feet, desperate for his attention. But his heart is set on only one woman: Pearl Robinson.

Alexandre’s dark and dysfunctional past makes him crave stability and a normal relationship, but he soon finds out that Pearl is a bird with a broken wing. Why, he isn’t sure.

Pearl, follows Arianne Richmonde’s bestselling books in The Pearl Trilogy: Shades of Pearl, Shadows of Pearl and Shimmers of Pearl; the tumultuous and heart-rending love story between forty-year-old documentary producer, Pearl Robinson, and French Internet billionaire, Alexandre Chevalier, fifteen years her junior.

Pearl is written from Alexandre’s point of view from the moment they first meet on a rainy summer’s day in a coffee shop in New York City.

In any relationship details are hidden; things are left unsaid. Not all conversations are remembered in the same way. And not all actions are disclosed—especially to the one you love most.

This book (Part 1 of 2) is approximately 53,000 words long, just over 200 printed pages. Part 2 is scheduled for release in October.

Because of Alexandre Chevalier’s prowess in the bedroom, this novel contains erotic content and strong language. Intended for readers aged 18 and over.

(I did put that it was part of a series…and technically I would say that it is. BUT I am not exactly sure how she is going to order it, I put that it would be number 4. That only is because I believe that all 3 of the other books should be read first to really appreciate this book, to really understand what is going on and not feel lost.)

I know that for me I have come to understand that when reading a book that is redone in another point of view, I will more than likely feel disappointed because it just feels like I am reading the same book all over again.

This book did have a few of those moments where I felt like okay I read this already. BUT that is just going to happen because well it is the book redone in another point of view, therefore we will get parts of the first book since well it is the original. I did have time since I had read the first book so I didn’t get that much. I did absolutely enjoy his point of view. We get to see how he was thinking as well as SO many other things that were going on when he wasn’t with Pearl. I do have to say although we did get parts that were in the first book but there is so much more in this one. So much that helps to explain why he is the way he is with her.

Once again there was drama! Oh how I was looking forward to that! I would have to say that I was not disappointed in that. But how it ended?! Oh my! I already knew I didn’t like a certain someone because of book two. But man!! Oh it was good I thought! I am usually not a huge fan of rewrites of books even if it is from another point of view because like I said it is repetitive. Then I run into a hand full of authors who just do it so well. I would have to say that she would be one of them! I was hesitant to read this only because I have read some that just were a big disappointment this to me was not!

I am looking forward to the next just to see how things go down on his side. I know how things happened with her, and there are parts of the books where we go without seeing him for a while. So it will be fun to learn what goes on in those times! I am very intrigued and happy that I came across this series. Thanks to someone who sent me a message asking me when the third book was coming out. That is all it took. 🙂

~ Giveaway ~

When I started this whole blogging adventure I never thought that I would end up with a thousand people who like and follow me on Facebook. I had originally started it because I had been asked by some friends what I thought of some books, then when I had told them of a few ones that were really good they had asked what I would suggest to read next. I thought hmmm why not just start a page for them to follow what I think, then I looked into starting an actual blogging page. I have had so much fun reading, putting my reviews up and having people actually care about what I think. I love finding giveaways to share with people. I enjoy finding news on new books and sharing. So when I hit 1,000 on Facebook as well as hitting my 1 year of blogging, I wanted to put a giveaway together as a thank you!  I don’t do many giveaways so this has been fun and exciting for me.

I wanted to send out a huge thank you! Without these great authors (and more) I wouldn’t be able to do this!!!! So…

Thank You!!!!!! For all you do!!!

I don’t know if authors understand what they do for people like me (booklovers). We are able to sit and read, to escape from reality. Sometimes it is a need I am not sure many get unless you have a love and passion for books. When things may be too hectic or stressful we turn to you to help us leave it all behind even if for an hour or so. I know that a thank you may not be enough because to be honest I don’t feel that it can express to all the authors out there how much it means to us as readers!

Special Thank You to…

Documentary producer, Pearl Robinson, is a beautiful and smart 40-year-old divorcee but has not had a date for over two years. When she meets Alexandre Chevalier, a young French, Internet success story, she’s stunned by his charm, beauty and sophistication, and startled by her strong feelings and desire for a man fifteen years her junior.

His looks, wealth and worldwide triumph with his social media site, HookedUp, means this powerful billionaire can get any woman he chooses, but there is something about Pearl he finds irresistible…

The couple begins a passionate affair and Pearl’s body is awakened in ways she never imagined possible. She is consumed by him and his magical touch. But jealous family members, Pearl’s insecurities and other external forces are threatening to pull them apart.

Will Pearl’s shadowy past and Alexandre’s dark secrets meld them together as one, or split them apart once and for all?

This three-book series, Forty Shades of Pearl, Shadows of Pearl and Shimmers of Pearl follow the couple’s tumultuous and heart-rending relationship.

“THANK YOU Arianne Richmonde for offering me the opportunity to read this EXCELLLENT series. I have found myself another must read author and can hardly wait to read Arianne’s next book and see what she has in store for her fans!”

— Swept Away by Romance

~Little info on Release~

The paperback is one, big, fat book (820 pages) of all three full-length novels in one.
The books will have some extras at the end (the playlists, a few POVs from other characters and an interview with Alexandre Chevalier with Vanity Fair magazine).
For the ebook the songs will be hyperlinked (at the end of the book) to YouTube so that people with iPads or interactive readers (Kindle Fire?) will be able to click on the songs.
On a practical note, buying the trilogy bundle rather than Forty Shades of Pearl, Shadows of Pearl and Shimmers of Pearl separately will save the reader money. The prices will be $9.99 for the ebook (saving of $2) and the paperback $27.99, (a saving of $6). As you know the books are between 71,000 – 76,000 words each so they will have a nice long read and the added bonus of no cliffhanger because they will have all three at their fingertips!

Review ~ Shimmers of Pearl by Arianne Richmonde

Book: Shimmers of Pearl

Author: Arianne Richmonde

Series: The Pearl Trilogy #3

BOOK 3 of The Pearl Trilogy.

Pearl Robinson’s life was teetering on the edge of perfection. Everything was about to blossom, not least a marriage made in Heaven with her fiancé, Alexandre Chevalier – the kindest, sexiest, most handsome man she could ever have wished for.

But her own insecurities, fears and murky shadows from her past led her to make certain choices that could change the course of her fate altogether.

Pearl now finds herself alone and bereft, a victim of unexpected Deceit. She has been lied to… tricked. But by whom?
The decision is hers. Should she trust the man she loves? Can she accept his past which threatens their future? And will the dark secrets he finally reveals meld them together as one, or split them apart once and for all?

This is the last in the trilogy and I was lucky enough to jump right into this one after finishing up the second book. I couldnt get started on it fast enough! I needed to know what the hell happens. I mean after that cliffhanger how could I wait to read!? lol

Okay so in this one we learn a lot of info. Things that make you go…”OHHHH okay now that makes sense!”  for example she explains the reason for the names of the “cookie” and why she used them. Then there are moments that I was so sure things were going to go a complete different direction because at this point I trusted NO ONE! haha I was even talking to my iPad as I read. Telling Pearl “Don’t do it” or “Don’t say it”. You would think that I was insane walking around with my iPad talking to myself.

There are things that just make you want to hate Alexandre, but it is just so difficult to stay upset with him. You just want to take him out of the book and marry him yourself. (could you imagine, I would have a house full of men if that were possible).

I do absolutely LOVE the fact that we get a few parts in this one from his point of view. Because I was wondering what was going through his head a lot of the time. This one was a good ending although what ended up happening I felt like it was a little abrupt and I don’t know…just kind of felt like it could have taken a different direction then the one that it took. BUT it got the job done I guess.

If I had to try and explain any negativity with in the book the only thing I can think of is that  in this one it would that it felt as if it were a bit rushed towards the ending. I did like it and there was hotness for sure. So over all…it was a good trilogy, with the second book being my absolute favorite!  I usually never am in total love with the last book in a trilogy but maybe that is in part because that means that it is done. 😦

Review ~ Shadows of Pearl by Arianne Richmonde

*click on cover pic for amazon link*

Book: Shadows of Pearl

Author: Arianne Richmonde

Series:  Th Pearl Trilogy #2

This is BOOK TWO of The Pearl Trilogy. It is not stand-alone. If you have not read Forty Shades of Pearl (Part 1) you really need to do that first to get the maximum out of this book’s plot and character development for the best reading experience possible.

Pearl Robinson feels like the luckiest woman in the world. In just a couple of months she is to be married to the man she’s head over heels in love with: the wonderful and charismatic Alexandre Chevalier, fifteen years her junior and founder of the billion dollar social media sensation, HookedUp.

She is planning a white winter wedding in Lapland – the stuff that dreams are made of. Everything is perfect, not least her haute couture wedding gown designed especially for her.

But Pearl is convinced that Alexandre’s sister and business partner, Sophie Dumas, has other, darker ideas.

And the shadows of Pearl’s past come back to haunt her in ways she could never have imagined…

The first one was good and I did enjoy it so being able to jump right to the second one I was happy, I had heard that there is a huge cliffhanger and I am happy that I was able to read it so close to the release of the last book in the trilogy.

This one was full of so much stuff and I have to say that as far as I am concerned when reading trilogies I have always LOVED the second books the best! This is no exception to the rule! I loved this one the funny names for her ‘girly’ parts were not used as much so I didn’t stop and giggle at the names she chose to use instead. Let me just say that HOLY HOTNESS! There were a few scenes okay more then a few that had me not able to put the book down. There is so much that goes on in this book that brings so many questions to rise there were a few things that I did see coming and left me wondering where some things were going.

I have come to love the obsession that he has for her. I mean in reality it would be a little creepy but in the fiction world it could only be flattering right? haha I mean to have a man so in love with you that he will do any and everything for you pretty much. Okay and I can honestly say that in this book I totally forgot that Pearl is 40 I thought that by the way she was acting she was in her 20’s I mean really where was all the wisdom she seemed to have in the first book. BUT let me just say that it did make for a FREAKING awesome story filled with so much drama, ohhh how I LOVED the drama. It was a big page turner for me and when things got real crazy oh how I got sucked in.

My heart broke at one point I wanted to yell at him NOOO you have to listen! You are just not getting it fool! I was so on Pearls side. Then I got to that ending and OMG all I could say was that did NOT just happen WTF… OH HELL NO!!! yeah they all came out.. I was at a loss. Ohhh and wanted to kill people!

~Favorite Quotes~

“My father once gave me a great piece of advice. He said, ‘Pearl, whatever happens, whatever you do, even if you end up with someone wealthy you always need to have your own ‘fuck-you’ money-money that’s just yours that you can do what you like with. women need to have their own fuck-you money at all times. you never know when you’ll need to catch a plane or treat yourself to something special.”

Book: Forty Shades of Pearl

Erotic, humorous, and profoundly tender, Forty Shades of Pearl is a story that will stir your heart, rouse your emotions and touch your soul.

~Our Thoughts~

This I had heard that this one was a good one and that there is a HUGE cliff hanger in book 2 so I am glad that I will be able to read right through from book 2 to 3. 🙂

I did enjoy this book I like that it is about an older lady not a young 20 something girl not sure of what she is going to do with her life, still trying to find herself.

Let me start off by saying that even though you immediately think of that one book that has become so popular, with the title being similar and all. But this book to me was a nice twist yes he is rich yes he is dominant in the bedroom and in his life, BUT he is not into the tie her up and spank her kind of stuff. He is younger than her which is a nice twist as well. There is quite a bit that happens that will have you wanting to yell at her because she is just going about things all wrong. Then there are times you want to just slap him for being too proud at times.

I will have to admit the whole cougar thing I didn’t quite understand at first I thought okay is this going to be weird, am I going to get grossed out, am I going to even like it? The answers are not weird at all I forgot that there was an age difference because he just seemed so mature for his age, I not once got grossed put during the hotter scenes, and yes I liked it a lot. I think that many compare it to fifty shades and that mainly being the play off the similar titles but if you go into this one thinking it is going to be just like fifty just by a different author you will not enjoy it. The similarities (which have been written for YEARS, long before fifty came around) is a rich guy looking getting with a woman he is all alpha and dominant in every aspect in his life (minus the whips and chains and all). There are things that happen that do throw in some angst and makes you want to yell out “I told you”.

I completely enjoyed everything about this story from the start the only issue that I had were some of the word choices for her “cookie” if you will. The author didn’t use the more as some would say “vulgar” terms but came up with something else all together. And that is the only thing that threw me off from time to time as I read I wanted to laugh every time I read it. I know that to each their own but for me that was something I had no issue looking past it because I liked the story. The names she used (Venus, pearlett, oyster) I don’t remember if there are more but those were the ones that stuck with me it still makes me giggle. Like I said it was the one thing that did make me stop and say “umm okay I never heard of it called that before” or “okay I saw that one coming”.

I heard that the second book has a big cliffhanger at the end so on to book 2 now! I usually like the second ones better in a trilogy since there seems to be so much that happens in them. *rubbing hands together* I can’t wait to see what our little Pearl gets into next!

4 stars

First off, I had seen this title and had held off thinking it was going to be a copy of 50 shades of grey. I was wrong! It was totally different, and I really enjoyed it.
Pearl is a woman in her forties who has a successful job, is divorced, and whos never felt satisfied in her sexual relationships. Until she meets Alexandre a 25-year-old French entrepreneur who she’s trying to get an interview with for her documentaries. She ends up running into him (unknowingly) in a coffee shop. They start dating, and he treats her like a woman should be treated! She worries about their age difference, but he assures her it doesn’t matter. Hes definitley mature for his age, and wise beyond his 25 years.
The sex scenes in this book are very hot and well done. He proves to her that she is capable of having orgasams (multiple even) when she thought it was impossible. The fireman scene is my favorite I think!
I love how descriptive the book is about the scenery and smells, especially when describing places they visit like France. I’ve never been, but I could just see and smell everything she was talking about. It made me feel like I was there with them, and I liked that a lot.
I was a little put off by the names she calls her vagina, like V-8, Venus, Pearlette, but that’s my only problem with it. The ending lets us know there will be more to their story, and I am looking forward to it. I cant wait to see where the next books take them!
