10 synopsis

In the beginning, there was him.

Gutsy, green-eyed Eleanor never met a rule she didn’t want to break. She’s sick of her mother’s zealotry and the confines of Catholic school, and declares she’ll never go to church again. But her first glimpse of beautiful, magnetic Father Søren Stearns and his lust-worthy Italian motorcycle is an epiphany. Suddenly, daily Mass seems like a reward, and her punishment is the ache she feels when they’re apart. He is intelligent and insightful and he seems to know her intimately at her very core. Eleanor is consumed—and even she knows that can’t be right.

But when one desperate mistake nearly costs Eleanor everything, it is Søren who steps in to save her. She vows to repay him with complete obedienceand a whole world opens before her as he reveals to her his deepest secrets.

Danger can be managed—pain, welcomed. Everything is about to begin.

Review

OH how I love this series! I love everything about it! From the fact that it touches on taboo subjects, that the main character is a switch. The fact that there is an awesomely hot and sexy sadistand he is a “major” sadistnot like these other’s you read about in other books who just like to spank, or whip only, he needs so much more. Then there is Kingoh how I am anticipating more about him, his “kink” is my favorite and I have yet to find a good story with it in there, and written well. We gets glimpses from time to time in the other books in the series.

Now this one, although it is part of the series and considered book #5 because yes, you need to read the other 4 books to have an idea of what is going on. BUT at the same time I believe there is a time gap. This is the “White Years” so it would be when she was a submissive. Where the “Red Years” is when she was a dominatrix.

I will say now that if you were not a fan of The Mistress and Nora’s story telling (which I kind of liked because we were able to get the best of both worlds. Some about the past as well as some of the present. This one is along the same lines. She is in the present, but she is recollecting her past. How it all started. Therefore, if you do not like that type of writing you will not enjoy this one. We get pieces of the past and how everything started as pretty much a bedtime story she is telling. I do enjoy Nora’s stories.

The meeting of Søren and Eleanorit was interesting to say the least. She is 15 and she want’s nothing to do with the church, but it means everything to her mother, and when she hears about the new Priest that drives a Ducati she can’t wait to go and see him, curiosity gets the best of her. She was so young and he was so “old” yet there was something there, something that couldn’t be ignored.

There are also things that happen with her father that kind of threw me a bit. We all know she is strong-headed and does what she wants for the most part, but her father wasn’t around much from my understanding. So when he called her and things went down the way they did it just didn’t seem right for some reason. I thought, okay, she can’t be that goodher dad isn’t around much and I don’t remember reading if she did it often so her skill was top-notch. But that was the only thing that seemed a little off. But that might just be me. 🙂

I also love how she is just this amazing person and people are so drawn to her. If only it were like that in real life. Well, I guess for some it is, but for most it doesn’t come that easy. 🙂 She is always having to break people’s hearts. I’m curious as to what is to come. I wonder what is going to happenare all the rest of the books going to be of  her remembering how things were when it all started, until she gets to the present time? hmm… Can’t wait!

I had heard about this series in the past, but had put off reading it for who knows what reason. Then after I read the first book I found that there were a lot of little novellas as well as a list of free short stories on her website. There is a lot of reading that goes with this series, but when I finished the first book I was drawn in and couldn’t get through all the short stories and novellas fast enough. They all tell you a little something about who Nora/Eleanor is. So if you can make it through them all you will know it is all worth it in the end!

All I know is I will read ANYTHING that Tiffany Reisz puts out there because her writing is amazing and her storytelling is awesome! I love the characters, plus you can’t go wrong with how she touches on some things that are on the verge of taboo. Love it all! Tiffany is becoming one of my favorite authors! 🙂

Review

I am never disappointed when reading a book that is put out by Ellora’s Cave! And when I find a Taboo one I am always quick to jump on it! 😉 I have to say that it was pretty damn hot! I enjoyed it very much! Okay so this book is the first in the series and I plan on reading them all! I do like a book that gets right into it. It doesn’t take much time for you to get started on the steamy-ness. I was sold the instant we get the image of the guys in leathers! I couldn’t put it down I needed to know more I had to have more of them. One of the things that I do love about this one is it isn’t too long either so you get to get your fill and it doesn’t take days to get through. Although there is nothing wrong with having a long story full of steamy-ness like this!

And the name of their club!? BRILLIANT!!

I have become a pretty big fan of menage. So this was a good one! BUT it was a little strange with brothers, I honestly wasn’t sure how I was going to like it but I really enjoyed it. It wasn’t weird at all. For those who may not know there is a HUGE difference between M/F/M and M/M/F and this is the first!  I did get sucked into the hot sex, I mean who wouldn’t? It was hot! But with that there was something that had me at a loss. I was so surprised and just didn’t know what to think. I usually can figure out or at least have an idea of how some stuff will work out but when there are some twist and turns that are put in I do have to say that I enjoy them. I loved that there was a deeper story. Something that was just so sad, heart wrenching and something that in the end can pull people closer or push them apart.  I am looking forward to reading all in this series!

10 synopsis

Astrophysicist-in-training Piper Minogue has a lot of control over her day-to-day life. Between completing a Master’s degree at Caltech and beginning her fruitful career at a local observatory she has little time for socializing. Until she attends one specific party that is. There, Piper is introduced to a drinking game called Never Have I Ever, and she finds herself admitting to a secret fantasy which challenges her friends’ views of her otherwise prudish nature. Her confession piques the interest of one man in particular, Noah; a handsome stranger with a darkly boyish charm. The resulting spiral of rapture and torture that follows is threatened by the demons of both their pasts. Piper’s inability to give her heart to anyone, and Noah’s guilt over the death of his former lover claw to the surface to tear Piper away from not only the one man who has ever made her feel like she does not have to be in control of her desires, but also the newly collected list of Nevers they both want to turn into reality. *Contains strong BDSM themes*

Review

This one was highly recommended by a lot of people. I have been looking for books that have rape play, this was suggested. So I took no time jumping in and getting started. I will have to say I am still left looking for a good book with rape play. And before anyone says that it is a spoiler it really isn’t. It is brought up in a never have I ever came. Hence the name of the book. Now if you want to know what happens from there you need to read.

On to my thoughts now.

Okay the cover…yeah. I am not totally sure how that goes with the book. It kind of is a bit on the creepy side. Made me think at first that it was a horror story alone.

All in all it was a good story. I was sucked in and mostly I will have to say it was because I was truly hoping that there would be more of the play I have been looking for but it just wasn’t there. SO if you are reading it for that…you will be disappointed. BUT there are a lot of things that go on. There is hurt, pain, horror, suspense, love, and angst. I did get to a point where I just couldn’t put it down on the intensity of the story alone. I just needed to know what happens. I was so sucked in and wanted to say that I saw it coming at some points but I really didn’t. There is some BDSM mixed in. Which made it a little better as far as the sex goes, because well lets face it I am a sucker for BDSM. There were twists and turns that just had me on pins and needles. There were also parts that I just wanted to say “Oh come on. Why would you NOT say something?”

All in all it was a good read and although I am sure many would not like it because of some of the things that happen in the story. (Which I don’t want to spoil for those who have not read) There are things that may be a trigger for some people. There is also another thing that some may have issues with such as the words “whore” and “slut”. I know that for some that is a huge turn off.

So if you are looking for a steamy read that has suspense, twists and turns, this will be a good one. I am kind of back and forth on it. There was a lot I liked about it but there were some things that I didn’t care much for. But with any book there will be those who love it and those who hate it, I was kind of in the middle. And that might be in part due to the fact that I went in expecting something totally different from what I got.

10 synopsis

Keep your friends close and your enemies closer…preferably in bed. That’s always been Kingsley Edge’s strategy with his associate, the notorious New York dominatrix Nora Sutherlin. But with Nora away in Kentucky, now it’s Kingsley’s chance to take her place at the feet of the only man he’s ever wanted — Søren, Nora’s on-again, off-again lover — until a new threat from an old enemy forces him to confront his past.

Wes Railey is still the object of Nora’s tamest yet most maddening fantasies, and the one man she can’t forget. He’s young. He’s wonderful. He’s also thoroughbred royalty and she’s in “his” world now. But Nora is no simpering Southern belle, and her dream of fitting into Wesley’s world is perpetually at odds with her dear Søren’s relentlessly seductive pull.

Two worlds of wealth and passion call to her and whichever one Nora chooses, it will be the hardest decision she will ever have to make… unless someone makes it for her.

Review

YAY!
Okay I was super excited when she went to go and stay with Wes. I have to say that yes I was surprised that Soren just let her go. But that man always has an ulterior motive. There is a reason for everything he does. That is something that you find out in book one. He isn’t there in book 1 a lot but enough to know that he is a very powerful man who usually has the last say in things.

I was so happy at the beginning and so happy to see how things turn out with Nora and Wes. I wanted to believe that things would be good I wanted to believe that she could go vanilla. As we get to watch and see how that whole relationship works out there is more going on at home with Soren and King. There is stuff going on that they need to work out, they need to find out who is doing things that are not okay with them. I will say I was at a loss and couldn’t put it all together. I am not always one of those people who can guess what will happen in a book, so it made reading this one that much more interesting.

Just when I think I have something figured out, I find out I was wrong. I didn’t have it right. But with this series I have come to learn that you just can’t do that. I never know what will come up. You may have part of something figured out but then you will find out something else that will just throw you completely. I know I was.

I just know that once again I am happy I waited. I am able to jump right into the next book thanks to Netgalley.

I was left wondering what the hell? I had an idea that what does happen, was going to happen but at the same time I honestly didn’t see it coming completely.

We also get to see a sweeter side to Nora. It is always there but we get to see it a little more. In book 1 we see it and then again in this one. Wes just brings that out in her. The smart mouth girl is still there and we get to see her come out when need be. And it is more often than you think. I am not saying that she all of a sudden puts on a sun dress and pearls and has a southern drawl but she is just softer when it comes to Wes.

We also get more info on Soren and King. And have to say it is all starting to make more sense now. I get why King is who he is. I can’t wait to get more.

But that ending….

Oh sweet cliffhanger!!

10 synopsis

No safe word can protect the heart

Infamous erotica author and accomplished dominatrix Nora Sutherlin is doing something utterly out of character: hiding. While her longtime lover, Søren—whose fetishes, if exposed, would be his ruin—is under scrutiny pending a major promotion, Nora’s lying low and away from temptation in the lap of luxury.

Her host, the wealthy and uninhibited Griffin Fiske, is thrilled to have Nora stay at his country estate, especially once he meets her traveling companion. Young, inexperienced and angelically beautiful, Michael has become Nora’s protégé, and this summer with Griffin is going to be his training, where the hazing never ends.

But while her flesh is willing, Nora’s mind is wandering. To thoughts of Søren, her master, under investigation by a journalist with an ax to grind. And to another man from Nora’s past, whose hold on her is less bruising, but whose secrets are no less painful. It’s a summer that will prove the old adage: love hurts.

Review

We get more of Griffin in this one. OH how I love me some Griffin! We also get more of Michael. I had wondered if we were going to get more Michael after meeting him in The Siren.

In this one Nora has to go and lay low because there is something going on and Soren doesn’t want his secrets to come out so he sends her and Michael to go and stay with Griffin.

He sends Michael along with her because he wants her to take care of him as well as train him while they are away. Soren thinks that it is time for him to learn.

There is a lot going on with poor Michael and he isn’t sure how exactly to handle it all but Nora helps him to understand that he is not alone in how he feels. She helps him to understand that he is not the only person who feels the way he does or needs what he needs.

Griffin is one of the funniest guys and hot (well in my mind he sure is!)

There is a lot going on with Soren, things are being put into question about him. SO, with that, we get to learn more about him; AND let me just say WOW, was NOT expecting what we learn about him!! That was just…well I don’t know what I was expecting but not that.

Then that ending!! That is another thing I wasn’t expecting…boy am I happy that I waited to read because I can jump right into the next one. I would hate to have had to wait to find out what happens.
Oh cliffhangers how I have a love/hate relationship with you!!!!

FYI…there is blood play in this one…may not be for everyone. It isn’t a lot but it is still there. For me though. It makes the story that much better! It just fits in well to who the person is who does it.

Notorious Nora Sutherlin is famous for her delicious works of erotica, each one more popular with readers than the last. But her latest manuscript is different—more serious, more personal—and she’s sure it’ll be her breakout book…if it ever sees the light of day.

Zachary Easton holds Nora’s fate in his well-manicured hands. The demanding British editor agrees to handle the book on one condition: he wants complete control. Nora must rewrite the entire novel to his exacting standards—in six weeks—or it’s no deal.

Nora’s grueling writing sessions with Zach are drainingand shockingly arousing. And a dangerous former lover has her wondering which is more torturous—staying away from him…or returning to his bed?

Nora thought she knew everything about being pushed to your limits. But in a world where passion is pain, nothing is ever that simple.

Review

I had heard a mix of reviews on this series and had been unsure if I would like it. I had put it off but when I saw that Netgalley had a few of the books and I could read them I thought why not. I was looking for something that had some BDSM in them. I started this one and have to say I love Nora! She is awesome! I also loved that she is a writer! There is a lot to love about this book. I enjoyed reading her stories, we get to see some of the stuff she is writing for her book. Pretty hot that is for sure!

There is one of the sweetest guys that we get to meet, her assistant. I instantly fell in love with him. I also love the banter between them.

This book has some hot sex, some of the best banter, she also does a great job explaining the relationship between a Dom/sub and S&M.

I wish I would have started this series earlier. I am also kind of glad that I waited because I am able to read right through.

I absolutely love Nora that is for sure. She is by far one of my favorite girls!

This book does deal with sadomasochism so for people who have an issue with that type of pain and the pain along the sorts of what Nora talks about can be pretty intense, and is not for everyone.

So if you rather enjoy a Dom/sub relationship that only deals with flogging and spanking along with being tied up, this may not be something that you will enjoy. If you don’t have an issue with reading about a Sadist/Masocist relationship than this might be a series that you would enjoy. I know I have and I am sure it will only get more intense. I am looking forward to see where this series goes.

“- sacrifice can only get you so far. William and Caroline are just too different to make it work. And although two people can love each other deeply, sometimes love alone doesn’t cut it. We can only sacrifice so much of ourselves in a relationship before there’s nothing left to love or be loved.”

“Catholicism was the perfect faith for someone into S&M.”

“Jesus died for the sins of the world. Everyone who ever lived killed Jesus.” She paused and smiled sadly. “I killed Him.”

“Because of all gods, Jesus alone understands. He understands the purpose of pain and shame and humiliation…for salvation, of course. For love.”

“In S&M, if you’re about to give someone a beating, you start off soft to desensitize the skin. A little pain at first can prevent a lot of pain later.”

“Polite doesn’t help me. How do I know what I’m doing right if you aren’t telling me what I’m doing wrong?”

This is a good BDSM series. It has a mix of differnet tings. It is not a series that each book is about a different person Nora is in all of them. Here is the reading order according to Tiffany:

I have so many novellas and free stories that it can get confusing. Let me clear things up. Note, you do not have to read the books in this order. This is merely my suggested order.

10 synopsis

Veronica “Vee” Close is still a young woman when she inherits a well established BDSM club from an aunt, who was well known to a group of Veronica’s school friends as “Cool Aunt Roni”. The group had somewhat drifted apart after college and graduation. But now in their mid-to-late twenties, the group come back together to accompany Vee as she is shown the ropes, so to speak!

“Seeing the Edge” is the first books in a trilogy that explores Veronica’s “learning” of the business and the re-grouping of her friends. Over the course of the trilogy, she goes close to, if not over the edge.

Review

I love a good BDSM story and this was a different twist.

It is a quick read and I enjoyed learning (although I have read about most of the stuff but some of it was new for me. 🙂 ) right along with Vee.

Here she shows up at her Aunts club when she finds out that she is going to be moving and she wants to hand over the reigns to Vee. It was fun watching her squirm a little. I also have to say that my favorite parts were when Drew would lean into her ear and tell her things, he would help explain what is going on, what she was seeing and why people liked doing what they do.

I was a bit at a loss when at the beginning of the chapters there are parts that were about other people. I wasn’t sure what that was about at first and when I asked the author she told me that it is to help set up what is to come in that chapter. Plus you can see how things play out in a quick few chapter out in everyday life. What we see all happens in the club. But the parts that are at the beginning of some of the chapters are things that people do on their own time not at the club. But I do believe there might have been one or two that took place in a club.

I just know it kind of threw me, I wasn’t sure what to make of that at first.

I am interested to see how things turn out for her as she takes over this club, also to see her friends go and play. That will be fun to learn more about also. 🙂 It was a fun short read so if you are looking for something that is quick and hot. This falls under that!

Series: The Original Sinners #4

add-to-goodreads 10 synopsis

The final book in The Original Sinners Series – The Red Years.

There’s punishment-and then there’s vengeance.

Nora Sutherlin is being held, bound and naked. Under different circumstances, she would enjoy the situation immensely, but her captor isn’t interested in play. Or pity.

As the reality of her impending peril unfolds, Nora becomes Scheherazade, buying each hour of her life with stories-sensual tales of Søren, Kingsley and Wesley, each of whom has tempted and tested and tortured her in his own way. This, Nora realizes, is her life: nothing so simple, so vanilla, as a mere love triangle for her. It’s a knot in a silken cord, a tangled mass of longings of the body and the heart and the mind. And it may unravel at any moment.

But in Nora’s world, no one is ever truly powerless-a cadre of her friends, protectors and lovers stands ready to do anything to save her, even when the only certainty seems to be sacrifice and heartbreak.

Review

After how The Prince ended and I saw that I was able to request as well as got approved on netgalley to read this one I was so excited! I couldnt wait to get started on it.

I needed to know what was going on, what happens, who is going to do what, how it is all going to end.

Needless to say, I was not disappointed!

There is a lot that goes on and we get to see things from Nora’s POV on Soren and King. It is always interesting to see it how others that are on the outside see things. So to hear her talk about it was very interesting.

Wes is there because he wants to know what the hell is going on and how to help.

King and Soren are there because well when it comes to their girl they are always there. They will do what they need to, to make sure she is safe and okay.

She becomes a story-teller for the most part and it is just fun to read. Reading about someone telling stories to buy time on their life is just suspenseful! If you have read this far in the series, by now you know Nora has a hard time not being a smart ass. So that does come to play a few times and it does get her in a little trouble from time to time. But she always makes me laugh.

If Nora were an actual person I would love to just get together with her and go out to lunch she would be so much fun to get to know. I would love to pick her brain! You never know what is going on in there. It might be a little scary though too! 😉

I have learned that you never know what to expect from this series.

Yet again another cliffhanger! Oh how I love to hate you! BUT I WILL be reading the next to come! Well played Tiffany well played! 😉  I need to know where this all goes as well as what that phone call was about damn it!

Soon she realizes she wants him to stay.

Review

Man, I have been waiting for this one it seems like forever! I could NOT wait for another Shadowlands book to release! When she posted the date for it I was ecstatic. I couldn’t wait to get my little fingers on it and just lock out the entire world and read!

The dame came, I got it, I read it , I LOVED it!
I don’t know how else to say it other than if you want a great Dom series…Cherise is the one to go to! I have yet to NOT enjoy any of her Shadowlands books. I still need to get over to her Mountain Masters books. I just know that no one I mean NO ONE can write a Dom the way she can. All my friends in my book group on Facebook who have read the series have agreed with me. There are others out there who are close but she is still the top!

I honestly don’t even know what to say that could be a negative about this read. I loved it from start to end. I absolutely loved that this one I think is the longest one out of the series so far. They all got a little longer as you get further into the series. I can only hope that means that Sally’s story will be as long if not a little longer. 🙂 A girl can wish.

Okay on to my thoughts now:

I LOVED the relationship between Sam and Linda. I mean we all knew they were destined to be together ever since the scene at the auction.

There is so much that Linda is fighting to process and the poor girl is having a hard time getting over things. Which I mean who wouldn’t. I honestly could go on and on about how much I love the Dom’s in this series, but you have to read them to know exactly what I mean. And for those who have read them you will completely know what I mean.
I don’t want to give away too much because I hate when reviews post spoilers but the relationship between these two is amazing. Reading how their relationship grows is just touching. So many are afraid to read S/M stories but I have to say this is one I was looking forward to reading VERY much!

So many think that a Sadist is uncaring and unloving and that is why they refuse to read anything with it; but Cherise does a wonderful job showing the loving side to Sam. Maybe it is because he is a Dominant Sadist?! I don’t know but I do know that I would love to be on the receiving end of his pain. He is so gentle and rough at the same time. So loving and caring. It was surprising at some points because he was always so harsh in the past books. Always the Sadist. But here we get to see a different side to him.

It is funny because so many of the books I read have the HEA and we get to read all the torment that the characters go through throughout the process. Sam and Linda being older to be honest I wasn’t expecting it so much, I had automatically assumed that they had their “stuff” together when it came to that stuff, for the most part. It was fun seeing that they were no different from any other 20-30 year old confused and unsure when it comes to love and relationship stuff.

There were parts that had me all hot and bothered. I have to say that their scenes were pretty damn hot! I know for some him calling her “Missy” and “girl” might be a turnoff but for me it was far from that! It was cute, and endearing.

There are some parts that I was laughing so hard. Cherise ALWAYS has a way to throw in a GREAT funny “party” scene. In every book so far I catch myself wondering… Does this actually happen in real life? I would love to see this.

You have to absolutely be open-minded when reading these books. You cannot be turned off by BDSM and sex because these are filled with it. There is romance, sex (lots of it and all different ways), bdsm, human trafficking, abuse, and love in each and every one of them. (Okay the human trafficking aspect didn’t come in till about book 3 I believe).

If you are looking for something that is a GREAT read! This series would be it! For those who have read Fifty Shades and wants something MORE and something BETTER this is it! But if Fifty was too much for you to handle (sex wise) then you would not enjoy these!

Who I picture as Sam 🙂

~ favorite quote~

“Fight-or-flight revs up the nerves. So does pain. Means you felt more normal. So after I’d whipped you, you were loaded with endorphins and in subspace. Turned your head right off.”…

…”Do your eyes tear up when you peel an onion?”

“Huh?” “What the heck?” “Yes”

“That’s your nerves reacting to chemicals. If you tell yourself not to cry when peeling onions, does that work?”

“No.” she whispered. Nerves and chemicals. A person couldn’t control those…
