Beyond Shame

Review – His Gift by Gillian Colbert

20120823-223202.jpg

GOODREADS DESCRIPTION:

Owin has a surprise for Maurina unlike anything she could have anticipated. Ever her Master, he’s determined to fulfill all of her fantasies, even the ones she doesn’t admit to … like having two men at once.

Now, on their first anniversary, he has a surprise for her that will take her to heights of ecstasy she’s never experienced before, but is she ready to accept his special gift?

MY THOUGHTS:

This was a very short but steamy read! After I was done I wanted more about Owin and Maurina! I wanted a prequel…. SOMETHING haha I mean who wouldnt want it?? I was left with so many questions.

Here is the intro paragraph:

‘She shivered in the dry coolness of the hotel room. Goosebumps erupted on her skin as she settled herself more comfortably on the bed. She was naked except for a black, silk blindfold that she’d knotted around her eyes as instructed.’

Review – Four Play by Maya Banks & Shayla Black

20120823-221607.jpg

DESCRIPTION:

In Pillow Talk by Maya Banks, Zoe is a woman in a committed relationship with her boyfriend Chase. Then one night, Chase reveals his number-one fantasy, which involves his two best buddies. Is Zoe game? She sure is, because it opens the door for a secret fantasy all her own. In Shayla Black’s Her Fantasy Men, a girly-girl named Kelsey plays football, craves action movies, and loves knocking back a cold beer with her three best friends-all male. Yet she’s never seemed sexually interested in any one of these hot guys. So what does Kelsey want? A fantasy come true for all four of them.

In Her Fantasy Men by Shayla Black, Kelsey Rena is an enigma. She’s a girly-girl who’s wild for football, craves action movies, and loves knocking back a cold beer with her three best friends–all male. She’s a puzzle, too, when it comes to sex. Here are three hot guys always ready and within reach and she’s never seemed interested. So who is the lucky mystery man satisfying the girl of their secret dreams? The three pals plan to find out. And when they do, they’ll see a side of Kelsey they’ve only dared to fantasize about.

MY THOUGHTS:

Okay this was a lot and I am honestly not a huge fan of three men and one woman. That to me seems like TOO much work haha. I would think a woman would get exhausted with 3 men. But I did love how different the stories were. The first were three guys who lived together and agreed and got along with it all for the most part. Where the second one shows how 3 different guys all like the same girl and how she turns there world upside down. They don’t all agree on how things should be handled or who gets to get the girl, because they don’t really want to share. So it was interesting to see the two different aspects as well as how they worked out. I did enjoy the read and it was by all means HOT but like I said I think I will stick with M/F, M/M and M/F/M, M/M/F because reading those two stories left me tired for the poor girls haha who I am SURE were tired as well as satisfied. 🙂

Review – Dangerous Boys and their Toy by Shayla Black

20120823-205253.jpgGOODREADS DESCRIPTION:

Trading orgasms for information isn’t their usual way of doing business, but when a missing criminal-turned-star-witness and fifty grand are on the line, bounty hunter R. A. Thorn and Detective Cameron Martinez are prepared to put their bodies to the task and give gorgeous Brenna Sheridan everything she needs.

An exchange they never anticipated becomes an experience none can forget – or walk away from. Sexual hunger sizzles the threesome, but the stakes and danger rise as a mafia bad-ass stalks Brenna.

Soon, their “deal” is no longer about information-or sex. Emotions bind Brenna, Cam and Thorn together more tightly than they ever imagined as the men protect – and serve – the beloved woman neither can live without.

Reader advisory: Book contains some scenes of same-gender sex.

MY THOUGHTS:

Okay so I had read other books that I thought were steamy and hot but this was the first one that I had read that was erotic. And all I have to say is WOW!!! after reading this I was sold and made it my mission to get some good HOT erotica mixed in to my reading! Had I known about the genre years ago I would have gotten into reading again much sooner! and YES you have to be okay with male/male it gets worked up to and WOW!
It is funny because when there is a moment where there is touching between the guys and well one just isn’t as sure about it as the other:

“Are you gay?”
“No. Im open minded”

it was well worth the work up! SO freaking HOT!! I loved it. No it isn’t realistic for something like this to actually happen and just happen so fast but that is the JOY of reading. to be able to escape reality and just imagine it is real, to them. It is a short story though and I kind of wish we got a little something like an epilogue telling us what became later. But all in all I would have to say that YES it is defiantly a READER!!

Review – Willing Victim by Cara McKenna

20120823-214332.jpg

GOODREADS DESCRIPTION:

For the past couple years Laurel’s been coasting, hiding in the backseat while her life drifts off course. Then one summer afternoon a tall, built bruiser named Flynn strides in and steers her straight into an infatuation she never saw coming.Flynn introduces Laurel to things she’s never imagined-to the violent but exciting realm of the underground boxing circuit, to rough sex and even rougher role-playing, and to an attraction she craves even as it intimidates her. As Flynn invites her deeper into his world and his life, Laurel has to make a choice-let fear keep her holed up where it’s safe, or take a chance and fight for the man who makes her feel more alive than she’d dreamed possible.Reader Advisory: Although all sex acts are 100-percent consensual, Willing Victim contains role-playing scenarios that may upset some readers who are sensitive about rape, even in a simulated capacity.

MY THOUGHTS:

Honestly I LOVED this one! For me the ONLY problem that I had was that it was too short it ended just when it was starting to get good! I have always been a fan of the rougher sex in erotic books I enjoy the soft and sensual also but this was a nice break from that. There were moments of sweetness that were nice. I just loved when Flynn turned into this animal. And well there was a funny moment that had me:

“You ever been in a fight?” he asked.
“Not a proper fight…I got detention for kicking Shelly Walker in the butt with my muddy boot when I was in fourth grade.”
Flynn laughed. “What’d she do to deserve it?”
She smiled sown at her hand. “I think she badmouthed Joey McIntyre or something. I was a hardcore New Kids fan.”
Flynn made an amused, judging face. “I hope it was worth it.”
“Oh yes. Nobody puts Joey Mac down and gets away with it.”

haha ahhh my NKOTB!! I really wish she would make another book for them I would LOVE to read more!!!

MY THOUGHTS:

WOW! It took me a minute to get used to the british way of speaking but I LOVED this story it had me from the very start. I loved the banter between the two and the hotness and the connection! It is a great story of second chances. Kate has some of the best advice for Charlie and I just loved reading their whole interaction. They are both so broken and lost and you cant help but feel your heart break for them as they talk about their lives. You just want to take in both of them and hug them. I honestly didnt find anything about this book that I didnt like. I couldnt put it down. And when I had to I couldnt stop thinking about it and wanted to know what was going to happen. Then when it got to the ending FORGET it! There was nothing that was going to keep me from reading I got little sleep becuase I got so worked up and got my blood running because I wanted to kill some people. There is so much in this book that will keep you on edge. And it doesnt dissapoint. I had to and I did pass this book onto my friends because it needed to be shared!!

Review – The Dom who Loved Me & The Men with the Golden Cuffs by Lexi Blake

I just finished reading the two books in the series so far and will be waiting for the next one to come out this fall.

The Dom Who Loved Me (1)

A routine mission … turns into a dangerous seduction. Sean Taggart is hunting a deadly terrorist, and his only lead is the lovely Grace Hawthorne. She’s the executive assistant for an employment agency Sean suspects is a front for illegal activities. To get the truth, he is going to have to get very close to Grace, a task he is all too eager to undertake when he discovers her deliciously submissive nature. Soon, Grace Hawthorne is living a double life. By day, she is the widowed mother of two college-aged sons. By night, she submits to Sean’s every dark desire. She’s living out her wildest fantasies of pleasure—intimate acts of trust she’s only read about. As passion engulfs her, a murderer strikes, and Grace learns that Sean has a deeply hidden agenda. Will Sean choose his mission and break her heart or be the Master of her dreams?

My Thoughts:

It took me a while to get into this one I understand that sometimes the first books in series are just not as captivating as the others because it kind of has to set up the whole series for everyone. But there were parts that I did enjoy! I love that age was never an issue in the whole thing and that he could look at her and never did he make her feel not enough. I caught myself wishing that I could have a Sean of my own. Especially when he is in the kitchen! nothing better than a man who loves to cook! I was upset with him just a little at the ending of the book. I wanted to just tell him that things NEVER work out how you plan in life EVER! but then I had to remind myself that it is a book haha.

The Men With The Golden Cuffs (2)

A woman in danger… Serena Brooks is a bestselling author of erotic fiction. She knows how to write a happy ending but hasn’t managed to find one of her own. Divorced and alone, she has no one to turn to when a stalker begins to threaten her life. The cops don’t believe her. Her ex-husband thinks she’s making the whole story up. She has no one left to turn to except a pair of hired bodyguards. They promise to guard her body, but no one can protect her heart. Two men in search of love… Adam Miles and Jacob Dean are halves of a whole. They’ve spent their entire adult lives searching for the one woman who can handle them both. Adam is the playful, indulgent lover, while Jacob is the possessive, loving Dom. When Serena comes into their lives, Adam is certain that she’s the one. But Jacob’s past comes back to haunt them all. He is suspicious of Serena’s story, and his concerns are driving a wedge between him and Adam. But when the stalker strikes, they will have to come together or lose each other forever…

My Thoughts:

I liked this one better than the first one personally. I loved the boys and they were just so different I mean I got that they were each others opposites in the first book but I didn’t realise how different they were until I got into this book. I loved everything about them together. I was at some points of the book laughing because they did crack me up when all the guys got together. I get that men are just so different them women and when they had them close down (well Jake) I could relate because well I know many guys who just close themselves off emotionally. I enjoyed the story as whole and can’t wait till Liam’s story comes out next.. I am excited for Ian’s story but I have a feeling he will be last since he is the best damn Dom! 😉

A Dom Is Forever (3) coming out fall 2012

Liam O’Donnell fled his native Ireland years ago after one of his missions ended in tragedy and he is accused of killing several of his fellow agents. Shrouded in mystery, Liam can’t remember that fateful night. He came to the United States in disgrace, seeking redemption for crimes he may or may not have committed. But the hunt for an international terrorist leads him to London and right back into the world he left behind.
