Review – Seduction and Snacks by Tara Sivec

Claire is a twenty-something, single mom that grudgingly helps her best friend sell sex toys while she attempts to make enough money to start her own business to give her foul-mouthed, but extremely loveable (when he’s asleep) toddler a better life.

When Carter, the one-night-stand from her past that changed her life forever, shows up in her hometown bar without any recollection of her besides her unique chocolate scent, Claire will make it a point that he remembers her this time.

With Carter’s undisguised shock at suddenly finding out he has a four-year-old son and Claire’s panic that her stretch marks and slim to none bedroom experience will send the man of her dreams heading for the hills, the pair will do whatever they can to get their happily ever after.

Warning: includes explicit sex, profanity and enough sarcasm to choke a horse.

To be honest, I wasn’t sure how this one was going to be because well the cover and the name were kind of hmmm for me. I don’t like to read what the books are about because I don’t like to know what might come I like to be surprised.  So when I got told I had to read this one I got to it and I am SO glad I read it. I don’t think I ever laughed so much while reading a book! I LOVE LOVE LOVED it! My husband kept looking at me and telling me I am a weirdo because at a few spots I was laughing so hard I almost stopped breathing.

“who kicked me in the head and shit in my mouth”

“Your tits are like Bounty. The quicker dick picker upper.”

“Pussy punch: when a twat tap just isn’t enough”

“She smells like chocoalte and I dont like to get spanked”

along with other things such as:

Vagina hand

Bloody penis <–  this had me laughing so hard I cried

Ahoy matey…..

and OH so many different moments in the book that will have you laughing So make sure you are not just out in public reading because yes you will have people looking at you crazy when you just start laughing from out of nowhere. Review – Perfection by R.L. Mathewson

Zoe is used to taking care of herself and has long ago accepted that if anything bad was going to happen, it was going to happen to her. So when she loses her job over something most bosses would probably be happy with and her life starts going down hill from there she doesn’t expect it to get any better. She certainly didn’t expect any help from the loud jerk next door, but then again she has nothing to lose so puts her trust in him and hopes for the best. What she didn’t expect was the once in a lifetime opportunity that he offers her through an arrangement where they both benefit and no one is supposed to get hurt, but she should have known better because her luck has never been that good.

Like most Bradfords, Trevor has a soft spot for food, but that’s about all. He leads a pretty straightforward life and likes to keep things simple and that includes his relationships. He wants the perfect woman and knows exactly what she’ll be like. So when he discovers much to his horror that he’s thinking about his frumpy little neighbor he decides the best way to get his head straight is by working her out of his system. He’ll keep her around, but only until he finds perfection.

This one was just as good as the first if not better! This one I LOVED Zoe!! There were just so funny together. There are moments that upset me because he was just a plain asshole. He made things hard for Zoe without even knowing it but when it came to the point that she just couldn’t keep quiet anymore and told him how he has made living next door to her a living hell. They end up becoming good friends and once again this relationship had me laughing out loud and I even got teary eyed at a few parts. I was upset with Trevor through most of the book because he just didn’t always make the best choices. And well the fact that Jason was in this book too off and on was also a plus. Then there is the food issue! It cracks me up every time! I was laughing so hard when there was an incedent with a Red Sox t-shirt:

“Zoe, I— Oh God!” he said, clutching his chest and stumbling back.

“What?” she asked, looking anxiously around herself as she held a large brown muffin against her chest.

With a shaky hand he pointed at the offending item that she dared bring into his house. “What the hell is that?” She looked down and frowned. “My muffin?”

“How could you?” he demanded hoarsely as he shook his head in disgust.

“What the hell are you freaking out about?” she demanded, looking around again.

“That shirt!” he said, pointing wildly towards the Red Sox shirt that she dared to wear in his presence. “What the hell were you thinking?” She sent him a look that clearly stated that she thought he was crazy. He inwardly snorted at that. He wasn’t the one sporting a fucking Red Sox shirt.

“I was thinking that it was cute and comfortable,” she said, shrugging as if it were no big deal.

Oh, god, he was going to be sick. He stumbled forward and snatched the muffin out of her hand.

“I need sustenance to deal with this, woman!”

ohhh how I have come to love the Bradford men! And they crack me up so much! I can not wait to see what the next book brings. But it isn’t due to be out until Fall of this year. So I will have to wait and see what it brings.

Review – Playing for Keeps by R.L. Mathewson

Done with being the world’s biggest pushover, Haley decides that things are going to change starting with the aggravating neighbor who has too much charm and not enough restraint. What she didn’t expect was to be sucked into his world, but Haley has a game plan and she won’t let herself forget just what the bad boy next door is capable of. The last thing Jason expected was for his little shy neighbor to go Rambo on him over some ruined flowers. After he decides to take her under his wing he can’t help but that notice that she fits very nicely in his life. Now the only left is to convince her that this is anything but a game.

I had heard that this was a good book to read if you wanted something that is a funny romance. I couldn’t wait to start it because I needed something that was light and funny but I still needed my romance! I loved it. There were SO many moments that I was laughing and LOVED the food aspect of the book!!

I hated Jason at first because he seemed like such an ass but then just fell in LOVE with him!

Here is one of many instances when food is involved with him and the people around him. (Brad is one of his best friends)

“How dare you touch my cookies, you bastard!” Jason said in utter disgust before popping the cookie into his mouth and heading back to his house. “Damn those looked good, too,” Brad grumbled. Haley sighed. “Don’t worry I have a second plate on my counter.” The words were barely out of her mouth when Jason abruptly changed course and headed towards her house. “Well, there was,” she said, watching Jason walk into her house like he owned it. A minute later he walked out of her house, carrying both plates and the gallon of milk she had in her fridge. He headed back to his house, but not before he glared at Brad. “You cookie thieving bastard,” they heard him mutter.”

The relationship between the two of them is just great! There is the love of best friends and they try to keep things that way. Until one moment that changes everything. And changes their relationship. I love how they talked to each other and how they just joked around all the time.

“He glared accusingly at her while he made short work of his clothes. “You didn’t wake me up.” She rolled her eyes as she speared a piece of sausage with her fork. “I did wake you up. Three times in fact. Each time you threw something at me and went back to sleep.” Jason gaped at her. “And you gave up? You know our routine, woman. You have to keep at it until I’m forced to get off the bed to find something to throw at you.”

I couldn’t put this one down just for the purpose of needing to know how it turns out and needed to just read there back and forth banter.

Charlie can’t let go of Kate because she’s the only woman able to see the man he wants to be.But the price of fame is high and when the world wants to drive them apart, life only seems safe in Kate’s bed.

WOW! It took me a minute to get used to the british way of speaking but I LOVED this story it had me from the very start. I loved the banter between the two and the hotness and the connection! It is a great story of second chances. Kate has some of the best advice for Charlie and I just loved reading their whole interaction. They are both so broken and lost and you cant help but feel your heart break for them as they talk about their lives. You just want to take in both of them and hug them. I honestly didnt find anything about this book that I didnt like. I couldnt put it down. And when I had to I couldnt stop thinking about it and wanted to know what was going to happen. Then when it got to the ending FORGET it! There was nothing that was going to keep me from reading I got little sleep becuase I got so worked up and got my blood running because I wanted to kill some people. There is so much in this book that will keep you on edge. And it doesnt dissapoint. I had to and I did pass this book onto my friends because it needed to be shared!!

Review – Slammed & Point of Retreat by Colleen Hoover

SUMMARY: The financial aftermath of her father’s unexpected death forces Layken and her family to move across the country at the beginning of her senior year. Torn away from everything and everyone she knows, Layken’s outlook on life is anything but hopeful. Until she meets her new neighbor, Will Cooper. An attractive twenty-one year old with an intriguing passion for slam poetry. Through their similar pasts, they form an immediate …and intense connection. A connection neither of them knew they needed until they found it. Unfortunately, the cards just aren’t in their favor. Layken and Will are slammed to the core when their new relationship is derailed by a shocking revelation, sparking a tumultuous battle between their hearts and their ethics. Just when she thinks she’s found her balance, a secret is revealed. A secret so intense, all of Layken’s current problems pale in comparison.

These books did something to me. They were so touching and just had my heart I LOVED the poetry that was in it and I never before had a desire to go and watch people perform but after reading this book how can I not want to? I LOVED everything about this book it was intense. I laughed and cried. There was a connection that I made with Lake that was almost instant. I just felt so bad for her when things were going wrong for her. I wished I could fix it all for her and I just LOVED how things happened in the book! It was “bemazing” I couldn’t get enough of it. I felt like it was so real and so genuine. Like I was a part of it all and not just reading it.

SUMMARY: Hardships and heartache brought them together…now it will tear them apart. Layken and Will have proved their love can get them through anything; until someone from Will’s past emerges, leaving Layken questioning the very foundation on which their relationship was built. Will is forced to face the ultimate challenge…how to prove his love for a girl who refuses to stop ‘carving pumpkins.’

I absolutely LOVE that it is in Will’s perspective. It took me a minute to get used to that because I was expecting it to be from Lakes POV like the first book is. In this one we meet Kiersten and she cracked me up. Soo smart for a child; she is like a 40 year old woman trapped in an eleven year olds body. She fit right into their circle and I enjoyed her little twist from time to time. There are so many different moments in this one where I wanted to yell at Will and tell him he is an idiot but then again what good does it do for me to be yelling at a book? like this point I was yelling at him…

“It’s the clear headedness behind her voice and the calm reasonable expression in her eyes that rips my heart right out of my chest. She turns to leave and all I can do is let her go. I just let her go.”

I was so pulled into the book that I felt as though I was a part of it there at their dinners there when there were arguments just wanting to help them and be there for them.

I wasn’t sure if this one was going to have them going to slams or not and when I got to parts where they did I loved it. I looked forward to it. I was so into the slams and just couldnt wait for more. I just love Will and his way of saying how he feels, and it comes across as just that he is so wonderful when it comes to poetry and slams. When things got intense I couldn’t put the book down I needed to know how things turn out so I am sitting in my bed reading at 1230 at night still because I just have to know how it turns out. That’s when I know I love a book when I am so pulled in I feel as though everything is happening right in front of me I fell everything they are feeling as though i am there with them. I “butterflying” love these books and the story! I am absolutely looking forward to them becoming movies!!!

On Colleen’s page she has a link to a guy who reads one of her poems and it brought a tear to my eye.. it was… there really is no words. I wish he would do the last poem in Point of Retreat!

http://youtu.be/trmHJLJAgB8 this is The Lake if you have read the book you HAVE to watch!
