You ever wonder what events led up to an individual’s inability to trust? Love Lost starts off by peeling back layers of a young girl who experienced the loss of essential, reliable and nurturing love.
Rayna Brimm, hailing from an inner city in New Jersey, survives a series of betrayal and loss only to forge forward in self-preservation and obtain an education in North Carolina. After receiving her degree, vowing never return home, she finds herself in California where she tries to build a self-contained life. She made a personal declaration to get through life without further dependence on others in order to avoid yet another heartbreak. Only, fate said otherwise.
Enter Azmir Jacobs, a tall, dark, handsome and very wealthy man, who has street credibility and executive power in the corporate world. Azmir has money, power and beautiful women at his beckon call, BUT only one woman has caught his eye. The resilient Rayna Brimm, a woman whose dysfunctional upbringing contributes towards her tough skin, issues with trust and a deep-seated fear to love, turns out to be more than he bargained for when he discovered her in his boardroom presenting a leasing proposal.
Rayna isn’t the only one with a checkered past. Can Azmir conceal his convoluted life long enough to prove that he can provide Rayna the stable and reliable love that she clearly needs and deserves? Or will his lofty lifestyle and endless resources scare her away?

How did you come up with the concept for this series?
I started out just wanting to write a romance story about a young woman from humble beginnings. Then over time, as I started spending more time vetting the main characters, I grew intimate with them. In no time, what was intended to be a simple, one book romance novel turned into a darn series! Now the story includes two complicated individuals, accidentally bumping into an opportunity at love.
Are any of the characters based on people you know?
Not at all. These characters are purely fictional. Some names are borrowed from people actually know for comedic purposes, but that’s all.
What did your family/friends think about the book?
I’m getting GREAT responses from them. I won’t get used to this though. The first installment of Love’s Improbable Possibility (L.I.P) is still new yet, and we’ve recently released the second. I come from a religious family so I know I’m due a verbal thrashing somewhere down the pike. A.D. Jacobs enjoys himself some Rayna – intimately! LOL!!
What would you say is the easiest / hardest thing about writing?
The easiest thing is coming up with characters and scenes. The most challenging is getting the opportunity to sit down and record (write) them thoroughly.
What was the hardest part to write in Love Lost?
Rayna’s beginnings were hard to write and pre-edit. I had to adapt a certain mentality to make her environment come alive. It was difficult to stay true to the characters in the first two chapters because that portion of the storyline is so misleading. Some may start Love Lost and think it’s an urban novel when it isn’t. In the end, I decided to keep her childhood in the story because it truly demonstrates her struggle to accept love later on in the series.
Sidebar: I’m glad you didn’t ask about the easiest. ***face heating up***
Were there any authors that inspired you to write?
I can’t identify any authors who inspired me to write per se, but I enjoyed Eric Jerome Dickey when I started reading heavily. Since, I’ve enjoyed much of S.H. Kolee & Sylvia Day’s work.
How many books are you planning for this series?
There are four books in the L.I.P. series: Love Lost, Love UnExpected, Love UnChartered and Love Redeemed.
