10 synopsis

It is the year 2070. Generations ago, the world was annihilated by catastrophic environmental events. The survivors were driven to live in big city centers ruled by the Company. To rebuild the world’s population, the oppressive Company had one rule: all homosexuals must be exterminated.

Commander Caspar Cannon has a stellar military reputation—and a life-threatening secret. When a revolution rips through the territories, Cannon is ordered to escort Company executive Nathaniel Rice to a secure location. For months, the commander has harbored illicit desire for Rice, knowing he cannot act on his attraction. Privileged, polished, and groomed to one day take over the Company, Rice is drawn to the rugged, military man. Yet Rice has his own mysterious agenda, and he knows their love can be as dangerous as the wasteland they must traverse.

Now leaving the besieged city behind, the two men embark on a journey that becomes a minefield of sabotage, betrayal—and forbidden passion. But when danger catches up to them, can Cannon trust the secretive man who holds his heart—and his fate?

Review

Okay I didn’t read the synopsis before I started this book, that was my mistake… but it wasn’t all bad. So for starters I will say that I am not a big fan of dystopian reads. I know some absolutely love them. This is an M/M dystopian hot read. I did enjoy the story of the two men more than anything.

For me it felt a little drawn out and I know that is partial to the talk. Like I said I am usually not a big fan. I did enjoy the few twists that came and one I was yelling out this can’t be happening right now. I will throw my phone I swear it don’t tempt me. So I guess I did get sucked in at a few parts. 🙂

But it was mostly due to the relationship that was growing. That is what had my interest from the get go. I will probably not be likely to read the next one just because for me personally it was not my thing. I am very picky on dystopian reads.

I really hope that others love it though, those who love a good erotic dystopian with man / man lovin!!

10 synopsis

Keep your friends close and your enemies closer…preferably in bed. That’s always been Kingsley Edge’s strategy with his associate, the notorious New York dominatrix Nora Sutherlin. But with Nora away in Kentucky, now it’s Kingsley’s chance to take her place at the feet of the only man he’s ever wanted — Søren, Nora’s on-again, off-again lover — until a new threat from an old enemy forces him to confront his past.

Wes Railey is still the object of Nora’s tamest yet most maddening fantasies, and the one man she can’t forget. He’s young. He’s wonderful. He’s also thoroughbred royalty and she’s in “his” world now. But Nora is no simpering Southern belle, and her dream of fitting into Wesley’s world is perpetually at odds with her dear Søren’s relentlessly seductive pull.

Two worlds of wealth and passion call to her and whichever one Nora chooses, it will be the hardest decision she will ever have to make… unless someone makes it for her.

Review

YAY!
Okay I was super excited when she went to go and stay with Wes. I have to say that yes I was surprised that Soren just let her go. But that man always has an ulterior motive. There is a reason for everything he does. That is something that you find out in book one. He isn’t there in book 1 a lot but enough to know that he is a very powerful man who usually has the last say in things.

I was so happy at the beginning and so happy to see how things turn out with Nora and Wes. I wanted to believe that things would be good I wanted to believe that she could go vanilla. As we get to watch and see how that whole relationship works out there is more going on at home with Soren and King. There is stuff going on that they need to work out, they need to find out who is doing things that are not okay with them. I will say I was at a loss and couldn’t put it all together. I am not always one of those people who can guess what will happen in a book, so it made reading this one that much more interesting.

Just when I think I have something figured out, I find out I was wrong. I didn’t have it right. But with this series I have come to learn that you just can’t do that. I never know what will come up. You may have part of something figured out but then you will find out something else that will just throw you completely. I know I was.

I just know that once again I am happy I waited. I am able to jump right into the next book thanks to Netgalley.

I was left wondering what the hell? I had an idea that what does happen, was going to happen but at the same time I honestly didn’t see it coming completely.

We also get to see a sweeter side to Nora. It is always there but we get to see it a little more. In book 1 we see it and then again in this one. Wes just brings that out in her. The smart mouth girl is still there and we get to see her come out when need be. And it is more often than you think. I am not saying that she all of a sudden puts on a sun dress and pearls and has a southern drawl but she is just softer when it comes to Wes.

We also get more info on Soren and King. And have to say it is all starting to make more sense now. I get why King is who he is. I can’t wait to get more.

But that ending….

Oh sweet cliffhanger!!

The Original Sinners Series by Tiffany Reisz

This is a good BDSM series. It has a mix of differnet tings. It is not a series that each book is about a different person Nora is in all of them. Here is the reading order according to Tiffany:

I have so many novellas and free stories that it can get confusing. Let me clear things up. Note, you do not have to read the books in this order. This is merely my suggested order.

10 synopsis British Agent Drake Steele never thought when he was hired on at the Serious Organised Crime Agency that his job would involve spanking a co-worker. But when the colleague is Lord Robbie Covington, the sexy red-headed computer hacker for SOCA and MI-6, Drake can’t agree fast enough to pop Robbie’s cherry and pull him into the sensual world of BDSM. Now they are caught up in a web of lies as they pose as members of the jet-setting crowd. Drake and Robbie have to race against the clock to stop a weapons haul that could threaten the safety of all Europe. As their covers begin to fade and danger is closing in, protecting Robbie is Drake’s most important task, but neither man is ready for the moment when their hearts are put on the line. excerpt

*******EXPLISET EXCERPT********

His eagerness to get started made me smile. I grabbed his shoulder and stopped. “Maybe you should take your shirt off before you get strapped in.”

He glanced down at it and took off his black thick-framed glasses. The apology he gave was muffled as he pulled his polo shirt off. Pale skin without a freckle anywhere on his slender frame made my mouth water. Unlike me, he had very little hair on his chest, just a tuft in the middle and a few stray hairs circling his flat brown nipples.

Encircling his slender wrist, I noticed how big my fingers appeared next to him. I guided his arms up and snapped the cuffs in place one by one. Once he was secure, I pulled on his bonds to make sure he couldn’t move too much.

Robbie pulled on them as well before he looked over his shoulder at me. “Why do you need to tie me down?”

“Because I’m not going to have you endanger yourself if you decide to move midstrike.”

Satisfied with my answer, he nodded, but as he turned away, he swallowed hard. He needed compassion but also needed to be aware of my competency.

I leaned in, placing my hand on his bare back to bring his attention to me. “Let’s get something straight right now. I won’t be questioned by you. You will do as I say, or I will turn you over my knee and spank you, regardless of where we are or who is in front of us.”

He flushed. “Anywhere, anytime?”

“Yes.” I punctuated the word with a crack of my whip.

He jerked, startled by the sound. “I’ll remember that, Sir,” he said.

As close as I was, the heat coming off him soaked through my clothes and into my body. He shivered, and it reverberated through every inch of my body. “Are you cold?” I asked.

“I’m fine, Sir.” The underlying tremor in his voice belied his calm demeanor, and he stayed tensed in anticipation of my next move. With him bound and waiting for my next touch, a heady thrill of power flowed through me.

If I stepped directly behind him, I was almost tall enough to notch my chin on the top of his head. The cologne he wore wafted up to me, and the dark scent beckoned me to come in closer.

Unable to resist temptation, I bowed my head to press my lips against his shoulder. He tasted salty from the light sheen of sweat, and the smell of his cologne mixing with his musk pushed me past the point of intelligent thought.

Without taking my mouth away from his delectable skin, I whispered, “These chains are also good for keeping you at my mercy. I can do anything I want, and there’s not much you can do to stop me.”

I expected him to stiffen against me in protest, but his eager cry came as a shock. “God, Drake, yes!” He shoved his hips back against me, the cleft of his arse sliding down my rock-hard prick.

interview
B ~ When you start to write do you always know how the story is going to end?

L ~ I usually don’t start writing a story until I know how it will end. Sometimes the ending is how I start working on my story. I have to know the characters will fall in love and end up together. Sometimes the ending changes a little but it always ends with love in my stories.

B ~ What was your favorite thing about writing M/M stories?

L ~ I enjoy writing the two men falling in love. Watching that with a couple and getting that warm fuzzy feeling of happiness of falling in love, that’s my favorite part. The moment where the two protagonists have finally realized this is the person he has to spend the rest of their life with, that is a very satisfying feeling to have.

B ~ What was your hardest part to write?

L ~ In Dangerous Submission, the ending was so hard to get just right. I knew how I wanted it to end but I had the hardest time trying to not turn them into big fluff balls with the ending, which wasn’t really true to their characters. It took several tries to get right but I finally did and I really love it.

B ~ When you are not writing what is your favorite pastime?

L ~ Reading but outside the book genre, I enjoy video games. I tend to like games where I can’t spazz out and die a lot. Like Portal, OMG, I died a lot in that. A LOT.

B ~ What is your all time favorite book/series? (this is a hard one for ANY book lover to answer 😉 )

L ~ I’ll go with The Vampire Diaries by LJ Smith. I’m definitely a huge fan of the books, but not a huge fan of the TV series (yeah, I know I’m in the minority here) and my favorite character is Damon. He’s such a misunderstood villain. Oh, don’t get me wrong, he is a dangerous blood sucker and a bad ass but he has such a soft heart for Elena. I love that.
Thank you so much for having me by! 🙂

~Blurb~

Qhuinn, son of no one, is used to being on his own. Disavowed from his bloodline, shunned by the aristocracy, he has finally found an identity as one of the most brutal fighters in the war against the Lessening Society. But his life is not complete. Even as the prospect of having a family of his own seems to be within reach, he is empty on the inside, his heart given to another….

Blay, after years of unrequited love, has moved on from his feelings for Qhuinn. And it’s about time: The male has found his perfect match in a Chosen female, and they are going to have a young—just as Qhuinn has always wanted for himself. It’s hard to see the new couple together, but building your life around a pipe dream is just a heartbreak waiting to happen. As he’s learned firsthand.

Fate seems to have taken these vampire soldiers in different directions… but as the battle over the race’s throne intensifies, and new players on the scene in Caldwell create mortal danger for the Brotherhood, Qhuinn finally learns the true definition of courage, and two hearts who are meant to be together… finally become one.

~Thoughts~

I like everyone else who is addicted to this series have been waiting for this story for SO very long! I could not wait for it. The day I found out it was coming out I was beyond ecstatic! Once the day came I coudn’t get to it fast enough! 🙂

I swear I don’t remember her other books (well Torh’s I remember the best and his was this way too) being so all over the place. We get Xcore, which well if you have read Torh’s book you will understand that he was going to be in this one. Then you get Iam and Trez which don’t get me wrong I do like them but we don’t know a lot about them other than what we learned in Rhev’s book.  Then there was Assail, don’t get me wrong I cannot wait for that man to actually have sex because he seems like he is a bit on the Dom side 😉 yes I was drawn into the side stories and I understand that she is setting things up for the other stories. I just wanted as much Blay and Qhuinn as I could get. I know that a lot of people would complain about that as well. It wasn’t confusing in any way for me because she ends the chapters before she goes on to another sub story I guess you could say.

Okay so the sex…WOW. I am not one of those people who have an issue with reading m/m anything. The build up was so good! Lets all face it, if there were no sex in this one I (along with many) would have been pissed! lol OKAY but I do have ONE question…Where was the LUBE!!? lol I mean I know they are vamps but I was expecting lube, hell or in the heat of the moment and not having it just spit. But still…I would assume that would be one manner they are like humans lol. There are not many moments with the brothers there are a few but I did miss getting a little more interaction between them all. Also I really missed Lassiter in this one. I have come to look forward to his smart ass mouth in all the books and this one he has such a small part. So I did feel like I missed him.

Okay, anyone who follows JR on her fb page knows she absolutely loves Channing Tatum and I was dying when I saw that she worked him into the story…

The sniffing stopped and the Fore-lesser looked up from the People magazine he’d made the lines on. Beneath the residue, some dude named Channing Tatum was staring at the camera, all hot as fuck.

Okay so there were a few different moments that had me crying. One being well the reason that Wrath has Saxton re-writing the laws. We find out about this in Torhs book. And let me tell you when the reason comes into play…I cried like a dork. The moment between Blay and his mom, and well Qhuinn and Blay of course. They have been waiting for this moment for so long! Hell we ALL have. 🙂

I have been in love with you for years and years and years…throughout school and training…before transitions and afterward…

We get more Layla also. We get to see her more as a female and not a chosen. That was fun to see her get angry. That was a complete first and made me smile. Woohoo finally!!!

If any harm shall befall him, I will come after you, and find you where you sleep. I do not care where you lay your head or who with, my vengeance shall rain upon you until you drown.

Okay so the very last sentence…a few friends from a book group I am in have talked about it and we agree it was beyond cheesy and we think she could have ended it better than that. I mean if she was never planning on writing about them again then I could look past the cheesyness of it but I know this is not the last we have seen of them so I am trying to understand why she chose that as the last sentence. haha and maybe it is just me but yeah, wanted it to end kind of like how Torh’s did. Gasping with an OMG moment, having an idea of what will come next.

I would have to say that  when it all went down between Qhuinn and Blay, well I was not a big fan of where it happened. I mean the place they finally actually TALKED. I just was not a big fan. I am sure there will be some that agree with me but some that may not. I had thought okay they are going to go and dematerialize somewhere they could be alone to talk.

Overall I loved it I am looking forward to the next. Which I have found out is going to be about Wrath and Beth. I am so excited to get more of the brothers. I was just telling a friend that it was so long ago and so much has happened. When I found out that JR is talking about doing a book about each couple to give us more of them it made me happy. I know for me Torh and Autumn’s story seemed to not feel finished so to know that she will possibly be adding more for them along with the others is so exciting! I love most of the couples. Marissa is not one of my favorites but I love Butch so I can look past that same goes for Doc Jane. But when it comes to Phury, well I just didn’t care for his book so all I can do is hope that if she does another for each couple that Phury’s draws me in this time around. Yes I know that there are a lot of things that have not been talked about like Iam and Trez. Also Assail and Manny. We just keep getting more and more to add to this series and I am glad to know it isn’t ending any time soon. This is one series that I have become completely obsessed with and love so very much!

Eden Series by Kele Moon

I was looking for something that had some really GOOD dirty talk and was told to try these and I have to say …. OH yes did they have some pretty good dirty talk! I loved everything about these books now not everyone will becuase there is menage and it isnt always m/f/m it mixes up and does have m/m/f  along with just m/m and for me I have no problem with it. So just be forwarned because I know a friend of mine who was reading it with me was having a hard time with reading those parts. I had finished before she did and started book two and told her that if the m/m parts bothered her then she wouldnt be able to get into the second book. I LOVE the relationship that they all have together. There were parts that caused me to tear up and others that I couldnt help but laugh, and well others I just had to fan myself.

A little information I found from the author when asked about this series:

“When I first started Beyond Eden (A dark BDSM M/m/F story) I hadn’t planned on it being as dark as it was. However, when their story started unfolding, when I saw how much Paul enjoyed pain, how desperately he needed it to keep him grounded and how special his relationship with Danny was because his best friend was able to give him what he needed most—I decided to go all in.
Yes, this story has blood play. It’s dark and gritty and more often on the edge than not.
Why? Because that’s what the characters demanded. Paul is a big, tough masochist who likes to take it as hard as Danny will give it and then ask for more and I’ve always been of the opinion if you’re going to go there—GO THERE.
It’s a love or hate book. People either love it for the darkness or hate it.

Mainstream is fun, but sometimes I have to rock the boat a little (Or a lot). I need to write the darker romances too, because make no mistake, Beyond Eden is still a love story about three very different people, who like three very different things, but still want the same thing everyone else does. . . To love and be loved without judgment and I think that’s the appeal for me. To give the deviants their happy endings, to show that everyone deserves to be loved, even a big, buff masochist with a dark past who didn’t believe he could allow himself to really be loved until two people came along and proved him wrong. Now what’s a little blood next to that?”

1) Beyond Eden

2) Finding Eden

3) Claiming Eden (release TBA)
