She knows it’s wrong. Cyn shouldn’t have feelings for fraternal twins Jared and Chris, her best friends. She shouldn’t want them to tie her up or strap her down, to take her one at a time—or together. The only way to control her taboo desires is to write them down and lock them away in her diary. Guys like Jared and Chris could never be interested in someone like her, or in the kind of sex she craves.

But Jared and Chris have read her diary, and sweet little Cyn is in for the shock of her life. The brothers not only own a members-only BDSM club, they want her. Need her. And now, with their unlimited funds and an entire establishment devoted to fulfilling her darkest pleasures, they’re going to claim Cyn for their own.

Review

I am never disappointed when reading a book that is put out by Ellora’s Cave! And when I find a Taboo one I am always quick to jump on it! 😉 I have to say that it was pretty damn hot! I enjoyed it very much! Okay so this book is the first in the series and I plan on reading them all! I do like a book that gets right into it. It doesn’t take much time for you to get started on the steamy-ness. I was sold the instant we get the image of the guys in leathers! I couldn’t put it down I needed to know more I had to have more of them. One of the things that I do love about this one is it isn’t too long either so you get to get your fill and it doesn’t take days to get through. Although there is nothing wrong with having a long story full of steamy-ness like this!

And the name of their club!? BRILLIANT!!

I have become a pretty big fan of menage. So this was a good one! BUT it was a little strange with brothers, I honestly wasn’t sure how I was going to like it but I really enjoyed it. It wasn’t weird at all. For those who may not know there is a HUGE difference between M/F/M and M/M/F and this is the first!  I did get sucked into the hot sex, I mean who wouldn’t? It was hot! But with that there was something that had me at a loss. I was so surprised and just didn’t know what to think. I usually can figure out or at least have an idea of how some stuff will work out but when there are some twist and turns that are put in I do have to say that I enjoy them. I loved that there was a deeper story. Something that was just so sad, heart wrenching and something that in the end can pull people closer or push them apart.  I am looking forward to reading all in this series!

Review

So I have come to the understanding that books by Ann will more than likely be some of the best ones! I enjoyed this one for so many reasons! BUT let me start by saying jarheads have a special place in my heart and I have to say that she does such an awesome job portraying their wit, and just smack talking! Having been married to a Marine I know first hand how they can be when they are together! I can honestly say that this was another good one! Don’t get me wrong she has done a great job of adding in some good steam but at the same time that isn’t what this book is all about. There is a good mix of suspense as well as heartache.

I love that you are able to get a connection to almost everyone instantly! Before we get to even meet Hope I already loved all the guys Daniel was with at the bar at the beginning. I found myself reading and not wanting to put it down. I just wanted more, and for me that means something because I have read other books that have to do with Marines and it turns me off because I don’t feel like they are portrayed in the way I know them to be. It is honestly hard for me to love a book that doesn’t do them justice. Yes they are awesome guys who defend our country and work their asses off, their families sit at home worry and pray that they are safe any time they are away. So I know all that and how it works BUT what people have a hard time getting across…That would be the camaraderie, how they are when they are all together!

As I read I had many different emotions. I laughed more times than not when the guys were together. I hurt and even teared up at a few points. But for me I think what I enjoyed was the suspense of the storyline. I couldn’t imagine having to be living in fear that something horrible would or could happen because of trying to do something good for another person.

There is so much to love about this book.  The only thing that I wish we got more of was the issue as to why they had their “falling out”. It is brought up and we get the gist of it all but I kind of wish we would have gotten more of Hope’s dad. Him and Daniel having a face to face moment maybe. To be honest I had thought that some of the reason that her dad didn’t like him was because he wasn’t African-American. But that wasn’t it at all.

I know some people enjoy reading books that have interracial couples, but for me this was like any other book as far as race goes. It wasn’t an issue, I forgot at times that she was African-American and he wasn’t, until there would be an explanation on how her body looked or whatnot. I kind of wish there was something a little more on that aspect. I know I love reading about a Latina heroine because of language used or mannerisms that just remind me of things I did growing up or things my mom did. So that would be the one and only thing that I can think of that I wish we would have gotten just a little piece of. I mean I would say I am well versed and can carry myself as a lady if need be but piss me off and you can watch the ghetto in me come out. 🙂 In this story there was a moment that I thought for sure she is going to lose it and let that inner “bitch” out. But she really didn’t. (not when I thought for sure she would) And it may be because she was raised better than that 😉 but I think we all have it in us.

Overall it was a great start to what I am sure will be a good series. I am looking forward to getting more of these guys!

Review

Ohhh Myyy…. I honestly don’t even know where to start with this.

This one is one that had me on a good emotional ride. I am still thinking about this one even hours after finishing it. I had heard that this book was good and so this one falls under the “why the hell did I wait so long to read it” list. I wish I would have read it earlier! I will try not to make this a long review, I will try not to give away anything as well because well I hate when reviews give away spoilers.  I promise you I will try! 🙂

To start off I honestly felt disconnected from Cam. I felt like she just wasn’t opening up or trying to open up. I completely understood the reason as to why. I mean when you have crap happen to you that just crushes your spirits and make you feel completely lost and alone and numb to everything around you, you would disconnect from everyone and everything around you.

But once she packs up her bag and decides to leave town…it instantly peaked my interest because I always wondered what would happen if I just ran away. Being able to be completely unknown to everyone around you. Then we meet Andrew. Have to say I would run away if I could meet me an Andrew! 😉

I will be 100% honest…it didn’t pull me in right away. It did take me a while to really get to that point. I was about 15% into the story before it made me wonder hmm… the whole restroom thing, than I had thought now WHY would you not get a little freaked out when you see him get in the cab and drive away but then there he is? I know I would be all “stay the hell away.” But at the same time us women are born with a little thing called intuition, and I believe that we all know right away if someone is no good or not. We just may not always listen to it. We try to convince ourselves that the little nagging feeling we get in the pit of our stomach must be wrong. So yeah. I can also understand why she doesn’t completely freak out and run in the opposite direction. After that whole ordeal well I kind of fell in love with Andrew myself. How he was with her was just so sweet and caring.

I love a book that has great banter between the characters. This had that, they cracked me up. I just loved everything about the two of them together when they talked. It was fun watching the relationship between the two of them grow into a friendship that I knew would never be forgotten between the two of them. Then there is this sexual tension that I could just feel emanate from the book. I wanted to scream at both of them…come on already!

If you are ever in a mood to read something that has that “it was meant to be” kind of reads this is definitely one of those. One that has that they were meant to be together kind of feel. It just has to happen right? The whole way through the book I kept telling myself that. They HAVE to be together! Why else would they have met on the bus? It HAS to happen!

There are a few little bumps in the road when it comes to things in her past she isn’t wanting to share. Then there are also things in his life that well we don’t find out about till later because he just doesn’t want to talk about himself much. He will answer her questions but he avoids offering up himself the way he can get her to do.

There are a few parts that are just HOLY HOT DAMN! Then there are parts that just break your heart. Than others that will have you wanting to ball up on the couch and cry because it just hurts so much.

Overall it is a great story!

Review

Man, I have been waiting for this one it seems like forever! I could NOT wait for another Shadowlands book to release! When she posted the date for it I was ecstatic. I couldn’t wait to get my little fingers on it and just lock out the entire world and read!

The dame came, I got it, I read it , I LOVED it!
I don’t know how else to say it other than if you want a great Dom series…Cherise is the one to go to! I have yet to NOT enjoy any of her Shadowlands books. I still need to get over to her Mountain Masters books. I just know that no one I mean NO ONE can write a Dom the way she can. All my friends in my book group on Facebook who have read the series have agreed with me. There are others out there who are close but she is still the top!

I honestly don’t even know what to say that could be a negative about this read. I loved it from start to end. I absolutely loved that this one I think is the longest one out of the series so far. They all got a little longer as you get further into the series. I can only hope that means that Sally’s story will be as long if not a little longer. 🙂 A girl can wish.

Okay on to my thoughts now:

I LOVED the relationship between Sam and Linda. I mean we all knew they were destined to be together ever since the scene at the auction.

There is so much that Linda is fighting to process and the poor girl is having a hard time getting over things. Which I mean who wouldn’t. I honestly could go on and on about how much I love the Dom’s in this series, but you have to read them to know exactly what I mean. And for those who have read them you will completely know what I mean.
I don’t want to give away too much because I hate when reviews post spoilers but the relationship between these two is amazing. Reading how their relationship grows is just touching. So many are afraid to read S/M stories but I have to say this is one I was looking forward to reading VERY much!

So many think that a Sadist is uncaring and unloving and that is why they refuse to read anything with it; but Cherise does a wonderful job showing the loving side to Sam. Maybe it is because he is a Dominant Sadist?! I don’t know but I do know that I would love to be on the receiving end of his pain. He is so gentle and rough at the same time. So loving and caring. It was surprising at some points because he was always so harsh in the past books. Always the Sadist. But here we get to see a different side to him.

It is funny because so many of the books I read have the HEA and we get to read all the torment that the characters go through throughout the process. Sam and Linda being older to be honest I wasn’t expecting it so much, I had automatically assumed that they had their “stuff” together when it came to that stuff, for the most part. It was fun seeing that they were no different from any other 20-30 year old confused and unsure when it comes to love and relationship stuff.

There were parts that had me all hot and bothered. I have to say that their scenes were pretty damn hot! I know for some him calling her “Missy” and “girl” might be a turnoff but for me it was far from that! It was cute, and endearing.

There are some parts that I was laughing so hard. Cherise ALWAYS has a way to throw in a GREAT funny “party” scene. In every book so far I catch myself wondering… Does this actually happen in real life? I would love to see this.

You have to absolutely be open-minded when reading these books. You cannot be turned off by BDSM and sex because these are filled with it. There is romance, sex (lots of it and all different ways), bdsm, human trafficking, abuse, and love in each and every one of them. (Okay the human trafficking aspect didn’t come in till about book 3 I believe).

If you are looking for something that is a GREAT read! This series would be it! For those who have read Fifty Shades and wants something MORE and something BETTER this is it! But if Fifty was too much for you to handle (sex wise) then you would not enjoy these!

Who I picture as Sam 🙂

~ favorite quote~

“Fight-or-flight revs up the nerves. So does pain. Means you felt more normal. So after I’d whipped you, you were loaded with endorphins and in subspace. Turned your head right off.”…

…”Do your eyes tear up when you peel an onion?”

“Huh?” “What the heck?” “Yes”

“That’s your nerves reacting to chemicals. If you tell yourself not to cry when peeling onions, does that work?”

“No.” she whispered. Nerves and chemicals. A person couldn’t control those…

Review – Down to You by M. Leighton

20120929-141220.jpg

GOODREADS DESCRIPTION:

Genre: Adult Contemporary Romance- Please be advised that this book is NOT YA friendly, not even in a New Adult category!

The scorching tale of one girl, two brothers and a love triangle…that’s not.

Olivia Townsend is nothing special. She’s just a girl working her way through college so she can return home to help her father run his business. She’s determined not to be the second woman in his life to abandon him, even if it means putting her own life on hold. To Olivia, it’s clear what she must do. Plain and simple. Black and white.

But clear becomes complicated when she meets Cash and Nash Davenport. They’re brothers. Twins.
Cash is everything she’s always wanted in a guy. He’s a dangerous, sexy bad boy who wants her in his bed at any cost. He turns her insides to mush and, with just one kiss, makes her forget why he’s no good for her.

Nash is everything she’s ever needed in a guy. He’s successful, responsible and intensely passionate. But he’s taken. Very taken, by none other than Marissa, Liv’s rich, beautiful cousin. That doesn’t stop Olivia from melting every time he looks at her, though. With just one touch, he makes her forget why they can never be together.

Black and white turns to shades of gray when Olivia discovers the boys are hiding something, something that should make her run as far and as fast as she can. But it’s too late to run. Olivia’s already involved. And in love. With both of them.

Both brothers make her heart tremble. Both brothers set her body on fire.

She wants them both.

And they want her.

How will she ever choose between them?

MY THOUGHTS:

Okay this one was a good one I may not have been as OMG about it as some people have been but I did enjoy it! I mean who wouldn’t with a set of HOT twins??!! I like Olivia from the start the “normal” good girl who grew up on a farm. Then there is Marissa luckly she isn’t a big part of the book but I did want to slap her the few times that she was in it… I will have to say that I figured it all out less then half way through the book I was talking to my iPad (yes I know) telling it I know what is going to happen!! And I was correct!! Well for part of it I didn’t expect the reason as to why things were happening the way they were.
When it all came down to in it most love triangles this was a first with twin brothers so I was torn on that fact alone. I mean two guys who look exactly alike but the thing that is different is their choice in career and lifestyle for that matter. And we’ll call me a sucker but I would have went with Chase from the get go because well there is nothing like a bad boy! AND one that rides a bike!!
And the anticipation OMG there was so much sexual tension build up it was SOO good then it actually happened and I couldn’t stop laughing at the whole situation the next day. 🙂

Then when it ends there is such a cliff hanger!!! Then says at the ending

To Be Continued.

MAN now I have to wait to find out what happens??!!!

This book is written in three different points of view. I wasn’t sure how I was going to like it but to be honest I LOVED being able to to know what Olivia, Cash, and Nash were thinking and feeling along the way. I wasn’t left wondering what was going on with Cash or Nash this is the first book that had three different POV’s and I did enjoy that aspect of it more then I thought I would. I can not wait for the next one to come out to see where the story goes!!

Review – Love Unrehearsed by Tina Reber

GOODREADS DESCRIPTION:

There is no rehearsal for true love.

When A-list film actor Ryan Christensen ducked into her pub to escape his screaming fans, never in a million years did Taryn Mitchell think her life was about to change forever. But now, eight months later, after a whirlwind romance, Taryn wakes up in Ryan’s Hollywood hotel room to find a diamond to die for on her left ring finger—and her face splashed across the cover of every gossip magazine.

Ryan’s very public proposal is catnip to the tabloids, his management team is worried, and Taryn must figure out how a small town girl like her fits into his glittering world. What does it take to make a relationship work amidst telephoto lenses, daily on-set temptations, and jealous fans who will stop at nothing to keep you from walking down the aisle with the man of your dreams?

With no script to follow and no chance for a dress rehearsal, Taryn and Ryan will be forced to take the plunge and risk everything to make their love last.

MY THOUGHTS:

I absolutely loved this story it took me a little while to get into it because life just kept getting in the way with the kids wanting to be fed and all.

There were a couple of parts that kind of lost me when she went into more detail then I understood about the whole actors lifestyle with being on set and what not.

I absolutely loved watching Ryan and Taryn’s love grow and how things just always seem to try and come between them; particularly jealous bitches and stupid people who just want his money.

I laughed at some of the banter that went back and forth between Ryan and Taryn and then there was the “WAGER” that went down between Mike and Ryan and I was laughing during that little situation also.

I think out of the whole book my favorite saying was:

“But I think he broke my vagina”

I couldn’t stop laughing.

And I also loved that Tina put in real actors and not just used made up ones. Like when she was talking about Zac Efron and Ian Somerhalder. For me it made the book more real like I had something to connect to that I actually know. 🙂 Then another little situation when Taryn was talking with Ryan about Ian had me laughing.

“That guy takes a shit too, you know.”

I shook my head to disagree. “No, he doesn’t. He’s still in god status and we all know that gods don’t poop.”

Still makes me laugh because I am pretty damn sure anyone who has huge crush on an actor doesn’t sit and think about them taking a dump. Hahaha

I can honestly say that this one had me up and down I was mad for Marie at quite a few parts and then happy, and then so mad at what was happening with Ryan and Taryn and wanting to beat people down. I am sad that she wont be doing anymore books for Ryan and Taryn because the way it ends it kind of leaves it open for another if she wanted to. But I can say that I am happy with how it ended and can say that yes I got enough closure to not sit and wonder and wonder what happened with them. I am beyond ecstatic that she is going to be doing another book in the series but this will be Marie and Mike’s story. I am just glad it isn’t over at the 2 books and she found a way to add another. I will have to try and be patient while she works on it and

“I promise to never fight over the toaster.”

Due to sexual situations and language, this is Mature YA/New Adult. Recommended for ages 17+

MY THOUGHTS:
WOW!!! That was a VERY emotional ride and I loved EVERY minute of it. I couldnt think of how to descrbibe this book until I had come across a review that had the best way

“it is Beautiful Disaster meets Thoughtless”

I was so pulled into this book from the begining I was so drawn in and invested into the story I couldnt stop thinking about it and couldnt wait to get back to the book any time I had to put it down. I fell in love with BOTH Chase and Brandon and my heart broke throughout this book. I was sucker punched in the gut a time or two and then wanted to yell at Harper that she is so stupid and crazy and she needed to get with it!! I cried a few times reading this and it was hard to not feel like I was there when everything was happening. I just love when I find a book that can pull me in the way this one did.

If you want a love story that is absolutely FULL of angst and struggles along with sweetness and love this would be a GREAT choice. There were so many moments in this that I just fell in love with one of the characters or just have my heart ripped out of my chest. When one of the guys is talking to her and is trying to explain to her how much she is worth it :

“you deserve someone who has waited for you as long as you have waited for them. And no matter how much I wish I could be that guy, I can’t Harper.”

at the same time I did come across moments that made me laugh and me personally being someone that is on the “shorter” end as far as my height as Harper is this part had me cracking up:

“God you’re so short.” “No, the rest of you are just freakishly tall.”

all in all this is absolutely a must read and in all the angst that is in it there is so much love. It was easy to become obsessed with this book and feel as though you are there through everything that happens and when they hurt you feel it and when they are happy you feel that also when they are confused I can honestly say that for the first time reading a love triangle I didn’t know what to feel I felt as torn as Harper did. And that was a first for me. I am so glad that I took the opportunity to read this one it was absolutely worth it!!! It will pull you in and I know for me I will not forget this one. It is up there with my top favorite angst filled romance novels!

GREAT NEWS!!: I was looking at Molly’s blog (dont read the comments if you have not read the book there are spoilers posted) and she says that she is going to be doing another book but in Chase’s POV!! I am so beyond excited!!!!! NOW what would put me over the top is to find out they are making this one into a movie!!!!!!

She also has pictures posted on some things from the book… who she pictured in her mind while she wrote this GREAT story! So I am posting some extra pictures of  “Chase, Harper and Brandon” in the slide show.

Review – Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire

GOODREADS DESCRIPTION:

The new Abby Abernathy is a good girl. She doesn’t drink or swear, and she has the appropriate percentage of cardigans in her wardrobe. Abby believes she has enough distance between her and the darkness of her past, but when she arrives at college with her best friend, her path to a new beginning is quickly challenged by Eastern University’s Walking One-Night Stand.

Travis Maddox, lean, cut, and covered in tattoos, is exactly what Abby needs—and wants—to avoid. He spends his nights winning money in a floating fight ring, and his days as the ultimate college campus charmer. Intrigued by Abby’s resistance to his appeal, Travis tricks her into his daily life with a simple bet. If he loses, he must remain abstinent for a month. If Abby loses, she must live in Travis’s apartment for the same amount of time. Either way, Travis has no idea that he has met his match.

MY THOUGHTS:

I had read this after I had been told that it is similar to the fifty shades books and after finishing this one it was NOTHING like fifty. The ONLY thing I could see that is similar at all what so ever would be the angst in the story. The fact that they just didn’t talk to each other when there was something that needed to be talked about.

That aside I did love the story. I am a sucker for an alpha male and well Travis is ALL alpha male and does underground fighting. Who could go wrong with that? Not me! I loved everything about him! Abby at times irritated me because all I wanted to do was yell at her STOP fighting it just get with him! haha I fell in absolute LOVE with Travis and just wanted to keep him for myself!

I mean when he says things like this who wouldn’t fall in love with him??

“You know why I want you? I didn’t know I was lost until you found me. I didn’t know what alone was until the first night I spent without you in my bed. You’re the one thing I’ve got right. You’re what I’ve been waiting for, Pigeon.”

Ahhhhh…. A beautiful disaster..

“It’s dangerous to need someone that much. You’re trying to save him and he’s hoping you can. You two are a disaster.” I smiled at the ceiling. “It doesn’t matter what or why it is. When it’s good, Kara… it’s beautiful.”

There were a lot of funny moments that had me laughing and this was one when she kept rolling her eyes when Trav was talking to her..

“Do you have a twitch?” “A what?” “A twitch. Your eyes keep wiggling around.” He laughed again when I glared at him.

There is a scene at the bar that had me laughing SO hard!!! Ahhh men… what they do when they don’t want other men dancing with their “girl”. Just thinking about it now makes me giggle.

When he started to call her pigeon I was a bit lost and couldn’t figure out why in the world he was calling her that since her name is Abby. Then he explains it:

“Abs? What are you, a workout video?” he sneered. “Pigeon?” I said with the same amount of disdain. “An annoying bird that craps all over the sidewalk?” You like Pigeon,” he said defensively. “It’s a dove, an attractive girl, a winning card in poker, take your pick. You’re my Pigeon.”

There is so much I enjoyed about this book and I will be reading it again when I get a chance to. And I also LOVE the fact that they are going to be turning it into a movie! And I can not wait for Walking Disaster which is this book but in Travis’ POV! I am so excited about it!!!! I would HIGHLY recommend it to ANY and EVERY one who wants a good angst filled love story! It was GOOD! I could sit here and quote the book all day but don’t want to do that haha so I will end with If you have NOT read this one you MUST!!! You will NOT regret it! It is SO worth it!

Review – Seduction and Snacks by Tara Sivec

GOODREADS DESCRIPTION:

Claire is a twenty-something, single mom that grudgingly helps her best friend sell sex toys while she attempts to make enough money to start her own business to give her foul-mouthed, but extremely loveable (when he’s asleep) toddler a better life.

When Carter, the one-night-stand from her past that changed her life forever, shows up in her hometown bar without any recollection of her besides her unique chocolate scent, Claire will make it a point that he remembers her this time.

With Carter’s undisguised shock at suddenly finding out he has a four-year-old son and Claire’s panic that her stretch marks and slim to none bedroom experience will send the man of her dreams heading for the hills, the pair will do whatever they can to get their happily ever after.

Warning: includes explicit sex, profanity and enough sarcasm to choke a horse.

MY THOUGHTS:

To be honest, I wasn’t sure how this one was going to be because well the cover and the name were kind of hmmm for me. I don’t like to read what the books are about because I don’t like to know what might come I like to be surprised.  So when I got told I had to read this one I got to it and I am SO glad I read it. I don’t think I ever laughed so much while reading a book! I LOVE LOVE LOVED it! My husband kept looking at me and telling me I am a weirdo because at a few spots I was laughing so hard I almost stopped breathing.

“who kicked me in the head and shit in my mouth”

“Your tits are like Bounty. The quicker dick picker upper.”

“Pussy punch: when a twat tap just isn’t enough”

“She smells like chocoalte and I dont like to get spanked”

along with other things such as:

Vagina hand

Bloody penis <–  this had me laughing so hard I cried

Wieners

Vibrators

P.O.R.N

Ahoy matey…..

and OH so many different moments in the book that will have you laughing So make sure you are not just out in public reading because yes you will have people looking at you crazy when you just start laughing from out of nowhere. I cant wait to tell my friends about this one, it is an absolute MUST READ for anyone who wants something that is FUNNY, sweet, and steamy all at the same time I can not wait for the next one to come out! This is in my top FAVORITES!!!!!!

These group of people would be AWSOME to hang out with you would be guaranteed a GOOD time full of laughs!!!

Mixed in there with the great humor and sarcasm is a sweet love story.
