Review – Bone Deep by Bonnie Dee

In the fall of 1946, grieving war widow Sarah goes to the carnival with her friends and is riveted by the tattooed man in the freak show, sporting head to toe body art. Later she discovers him hiding in her hayloft, escaped from virtual imprisonment since childhood by the carnival’s evil owner. She shelters him on her farm, fighting a powerful sexual attraction while learning about his mysterious past and gentle nature. When a local child goes missing, Tom uses his psychic gifts to locate her, but his assistance in the case doesn’t allay the town’s mistrust of such an exotic stranger in their midst. Small-town prejudice tears the lovers apart and a very real threat from carnival owner Art Reed endangers them. Can they rise above obstacles of fear and hate to create the family both have always craved?

Okay so this isn’t normally what I would read. It takes place when Truman was president and I like to read for the most part books that take place in the more present time. BUT I did like it! It was very sweet and heart breaking at the same time. It was a quick read and I liked it. I loved the talk. Haha “golly” is not something I usually see in the books that I read on a normal basis. I enjoyed the relationship that was portrayed and how he was so quiet and slowly opened up. At the same time it is the one complaint that I have about the book. It was such a short read that I was left wanting more, to know more about Tom because he didn’t talk much there were a few things that were said by him but not much. I just felt like I didn’t know enough about him. We got to know Sarah and I just wish we could have gotten more Tom. I LOVED the cover of the book and that was one of the draws for me and then I had heard it was a good read. It was but just left me wanting more and not feeling like it was completed I understand that it is a short so a lot of the time you are left wanting more. I liked it and will say it again I wanted more Tom! Haha

Review – His Gift by Gillian Colbert

Owin has a surprise for Maurina unlike anything she could have anticipated. Ever her Master, he’s determined to fulfill all of her fantasies, even the ones she doesn’t admit to … like having two men at once.

Now, on their first anniversary, he has a surprise for her that will take her to heights of ecstasy she’s never experienced before, but is she ready to accept his special gift?

This was a very short but steamy read! After I was done I wanted more about Owin and Maurina! I wanted a prequel…. SOMETHING haha I mean who wouldnt want it?? I was left with so many questions.

Here is the intro paragraph:

‘She shivered in the dry coolness of the hotel room. Goosebumps erupted on her skin as she settled herself more comfortably on the bed. She was naked except for a black, silk blindfold that she’d knotted around her eyes as instructed.’

Review – Willing Victim by Cara McKenna

For the past couple years Laurel’s been coasting, hiding in the backseat while her life drifts off course. Then one summer afternoon a tall, built bruiser named Flynn strides in and steers her straight into an infatuation she never saw coming.Flynn introduces Laurel to things she’s never imagined-to the violent but exciting realm of the underground boxing circuit, to rough sex and even rougher role-playing, and to an attraction she craves even as it intimidates her. As Flynn invites her deeper into his world and his life, Laurel has to make a choice-let fear keep her holed up where it’s safe, or take a chance and fight for the man who makes her feel more alive than she’d dreamed possible.Reader Advisory: Although all sex acts are 100-percent consensual, Willing Victim contains role-playing scenarios that may upset some readers who are sensitive about rape, even in a simulated capacity.

Honestly I LOVED this one! For me the ONLY problem that I had was that it was too short it ended just when it was starting to get good! I have always been a fan of the rougher sex in erotic books I enjoy the soft and sensual also but this was a nice break from that. There were moments of sweetness that were nice. I just loved when Flynn turned into this animal. And well there was a funny moment that had me:

“You ever been in a fight?” he asked.
“Not a proper fight…I got detention for kicking Shelly Walker in the butt with my muddy boot when I was in fourth grade.”
Flynn laughed. “What’d she do to deserve it?”
She smiled sown at her hand. “I think she badmouthed Joey McIntyre or something. I was a hardcore New Kids fan.”
Flynn made an amused, judging face. “I hope it was worth it.”
“Oh yes. Nobody puts Joey Mac down and gets away with it.”

haha ahhh my NKOTB!! I really wish she would make another book for them I would LOVE to read more!!!

Review – Beauty Touched the Beast by Skye Warren

Erin cleans Mr. Morris’ house twice a week, soaking up every moment with the reclusive ex-soldier. Blake Morris knows that he’s scarred both inside and out and no good for someone like her.

Then Erin walks in on Blake touching himself, moaning her name, and all bets are off. Beauty Touched the Beast is a short erotic story of lovers finding refuge with each other. Not for those under 18 years of age or those uncomfortable with the subject matter.

This was a sweet short story. I could only imagine what it would be like to walk in on your boss masterbating. haha Mr. Morris is in his mind a beast and un attractive and thinks that Erin is beautiful and he figures she will quit after her little discovery. But when she doesn’t he wants to believe that she might want him but finds it hard to believe.

This is just so sweet when it comes down to it. A real life beauty and the beast story.
