10 synopsis

Keep your friends close and your enemies closer…preferably in bed. That’s always been Kingsley Edge’s strategy with his associate, the notorious New York dominatrix Nora Sutherlin. But with Nora away in Kentucky, now it’s Kingsley’s chance to take her place at the feet of the only man he’s ever wanted — Søren, Nora’s on-again, off-again lover — until a new threat from an old enemy forces him to confront his past.

Wes Railey is still the object of Nora’s tamest yet most maddening fantasies, and the one man she can’t forget. He’s young. He’s wonderful. He’s also thoroughbred royalty and she’s in “his” world now. But Nora is no simpering Southern belle, and her dream of fitting into Wesley’s world is perpetually at odds with her dear Søren’s relentlessly seductive pull.

Two worlds of wealth and passion call to her and whichever one Nora chooses, it will be the hardest decision she will ever have to make… unless someone makes it for her.

Review

YAY!
Okay I was super excited when she went to go and stay with Wes. I have to say that yes I was surprised that Soren just let her go. But that man always has an ulterior motive. There is a reason for everything he does. That is something that you find out in book one. He isn’t there in book 1 a lot but enough to know that he is a very powerful man who usually has the last say in things.

I was so happy at the beginning and so happy to see how things turn out with Nora and Wes. I wanted to believe that things would be good I wanted to believe that she could go vanilla. As we get to watch and see how that whole relationship works out there is more going on at home with Soren and King. There is stuff going on that they need to work out, they need to find out who is doing things that are not okay with them. I will say I was at a loss and couldn’t put it all together. I am not always one of those people who can guess what will happen in a book, so it made reading this one that much more interesting.

Just when I think I have something figured out, I find out I was wrong. I didn’t have it right. But with this series I have come to learn that you just can’t do that. I never know what will come up. You may have part of something figured out but then you will find out something else that will just throw you completely. I know I was.

I just know that once again I am happy I waited. I am able to jump right into the next book thanks to Netgalley.

I was left wondering what the hell? I had an idea that what does happen, was going to happen but at the same time I honestly didn’t see it coming completely.

We also get to see a sweeter side to Nora. It is always there but we get to see it a little more. In book 1 we see it and then again in this one. Wes just brings that out in her. The smart mouth girl is still there and we get to see her come out when need be. And it is more often than you think. I am not saying that she all of a sudden puts on a sun dress and pearls and has a southern drawl but she is just softer when it comes to Wes.

We also get more info on Soren and King. And have to say it is all starting to make more sense now. I get why King is who he is. I can’t wait to get more.

But that ending….

Oh sweet cliffhanger!!

10 synopsis

No safe word can protect the heart

Infamous erotica author and accomplished dominatrix Nora Sutherlin is doing something utterly out of character: hiding. While her longtime lover, Søren—whose fetishes, if exposed, would be his ruin—is under scrutiny pending a major promotion, Nora’s lying low and away from temptation in the lap of luxury.

Her host, the wealthy and uninhibited Griffin Fiske, is thrilled to have Nora stay at his country estate, especially once he meets her traveling companion. Young, inexperienced and angelically beautiful, Michael has become Nora’s protégé, and this summer with Griffin is going to be his training, where the hazing never ends.

But while her flesh is willing, Nora’s mind is wandering. To thoughts of Søren, her master, under investigation by a journalist with an ax to grind. And to another man from Nora’s past, whose hold on her is less bruising, but whose secrets are no less painful. It’s a summer that will prove the old adage: love hurts.

Review

We get more of Griffin in this one. OH how I love me some Griffin! We also get more of Michael. I had wondered if we were going to get more Michael after meeting him in The Siren.

In this one Nora has to go and lay low because there is something going on and Soren doesn’t want his secrets to come out so he sends her and Michael to go and stay with Griffin.

He sends Michael along with her because he wants her to take care of him as well as train him while they are away. Soren thinks that it is time for him to learn.

There is a lot going on with poor Michael and he isn’t sure how exactly to handle it all but Nora helps him to understand that he is not alone in how he feels. She helps him to understand that he is not the only person who feels the way he does or needs what he needs.

Griffin is one of the funniest guys and hot (well in my mind he sure is!)

There is a lot going on with Soren, things are being put into question about him. SO, with that, we get to learn more about him; AND let me just say WOW, was NOT expecting what we learn about him!! That was just…well I don’t know what I was expecting but not that.

Then that ending!! That is another thing I wasn’t expecting…boy am I happy that I waited to read because I can jump right into the next one. I would hate to have had to wait to find out what happens.
Oh cliffhangers how I have a love/hate relationship with you!!!!

FYI…there is blood play in this one…may not be for everyone. It isn’t a lot but it is still there. For me though. It makes the story that much better! It just fits in well to who the person is who does it.

10 synopsis

Notorious Nora Sutherlin is famous for her delicious works of erotica, each one more popular with readers than the last. But her latest manuscript is different—more serious, more personal—and she’s sure it’ll be her breakout book…if it ever sees the light of day.

Zachary Easton holds Nora’s fate in his well-manicured hands. The demanding British editor agrees to handle the book on one condition: he wants complete control. Nora must rewrite the entire novel to his exacting standards—in six weeks—or it’s no deal.

Nora’s grueling writing sessions with Zach are drainingand shockingly arousing. And a dangerous former lover has her wondering which is more torturous—staying away from him…or returning to his bed?

Nora thought she knew everything about being pushed to your limits. But in a world where passion is pain, nothing is ever that simple.

Review

I had heard a mix of reviews on this series and had been unsure if I would like it. I had put it off but when I saw that Netgalley had a few of the books and I could read them I thought why not. I was looking for something that had some BDSM in them. I started this one and have to say I love Nora! She is awesome! I also loved that she is a writer! There is a lot to love about this book. I enjoyed reading her stories, we get to see some of the stuff she is writing for her book. Pretty hot that is for sure!

There is one of the sweetest guys that we get to meet, her assistant. I instantly fell in love with him. I also love the banter between them.

This book has some hot sex, some of the best banter, she also does a great job explaining the relationship between a Dom/sub and S&M.

I wish I would have started this series earlier. I am also kind of glad that I waited because I am able to read right through.

I absolutely love Nora that is for sure. She is by far one of my favorite girls!

This book does deal with sadomasochism so for people who have an issue with that type of pain and the pain along the sorts of what Nora talks about can be pretty intense, and is not for everyone.

So if you rather enjoy a Dom/sub relationship that only deals with flogging and spanking along with being tied up, this may not be something that you will enjoy. If you don’t have an issue with reading about a Sadist/Masocist relationship than this might be a series that you would enjoy. I know I have and I am sure it will only get more intense. I am looking forward to see where this series goes.

“- sacrifice can only get you so far. William and Caroline are just too different to make it work. And although two people can love each other deeply, sometimes love alone doesn’t cut it. We can only sacrifice so much of ourselves in a relationship before there’s nothing left to love or be loved.”

“Catholicism was the perfect faith for someone into S&M.”

“Jesus died for the sins of the world. Everyone who ever lived killed Jesus.” She paused and smiled sadly. “I killed Him.”

“Because of all gods, Jesus alone understands. He understands the purpose of pain and shame and humiliation…for salvation, of course. For love.”

“In S&M, if you’re about to give someone a beating, you start off soft to desensitize the skin. A little pain at first can prevent a lot of pain later.”

“Polite doesn’t help me. How do I know what I’m doing right if you aren’t telling me what I’m doing wrong?”

“Men simply had no idea how profound an effect their masculine scent could have on a woman.”

“The same wind that blows us off course can turn and carry us home.”

10 synopsis

When trying to save a woman from slavers, Sam screwed up. Royally. Now Linda wants nothing to do with him. Or with BDSM. She won’t even admit she’s a masochist. As a dominant and sadist, he can give her what she needs, and when an opportunity arises, he slips into her life, intending to make amends. She’s everything he knew she would beexcept for her bullheaded determination to be ‘normal’.

Now the horrible time is past, Linda just wants to return to her small conservative town, pick up her quiet life, and be normal. But how can someone who likes pain be ‘normal’? To her dismay, when someone spray-paints her home with obscenities, Sam shows up to rescue her. Again. Doesn’t he understand that the last thing she needs in her life is a sadist? He’s amused by her objections. But his dry sense of humor can’t disguise that he’s tough as nails and dominant and stubborn. He’s not going to let her drive him off this time. Soon she realizes she wants him to stay.

When he takes her to the Shadowlands, she feels as if she’s found a homeuntil she hears a voice from out of her nightmares.

Review

Man, I have been waiting for this one it seems like forever! I could NOT wait for another Shadowlands book to release! When she posted the date for it I was ecstatic. I couldn’t wait to get my little fingers on it and just lock out the entire world and read!

The dame came, I got it, I read it , I LOVED it!
I don’t know how else to say it other than if you want a great Dom series…Cherise is the one to go to! I have yet to NOT enjoy any of her Shadowlands books. I still need to get over to her Mountain Masters books. I just know that no one I mean NO ONE can write a Dom the way she can. All my friends in my book group on Facebook who have read the series have agreed with me. There are others out there who are close but she is still the top!

I honestly don’t even know what to say that could be a negative about this read. I loved it from start to end. I absolutely loved that this one I think is the longest one out of the series so far. They all got a little longer as you get further into the series. I can only hope that means that Sally’s story will be as long if not a little longer. 🙂 A girl can wish.

Okay on to my thoughts now:

I LOVED the relationship between Sam and Linda. I mean we all knew they were destined to be together ever since the scene at the auction.

There is so much that Linda is fighting to process and the poor girl is having a hard time getting over things. Which I mean who wouldn’t. I honestly could go on and on about how much I love the Dom’s in this series, but you have to read them to know exactly what I mean. And for those who have read them you will completely know what I mean.
I don’t want to give away too much because I hate when reviews post spoilers but the relationship between these two is amazing. Reading how their relationship grows is just touching. So many are afraid to read S/M stories but I have to say this is one I was looking forward to reading VERY much!

So many think that a Sadist is uncaring and unloving and that is why they refuse to read anything with it; but Cherise does a wonderful job showing the loving side to Sam. Maybe it is because he is a Dominant Sadist?! I don’t know but I do know that I would love to be on the receiving end of his pain. He is so gentle and rough at the same time. So loving and caring. It was surprising at some points because he was always so harsh in the past books. Always the Sadist. But here we get to see a different side to him.

It is funny because so many of the books I read have the HEA and we get to read all the torment that the characters go through throughout the process. Sam and Linda being older to be honest I wasn’t expecting it so much, I had automatically assumed that they had their “stuff” together when it came to that stuff, for the most part. It was fun seeing that they were no different from any other 20-30 year old confused and unsure when it comes to love and relationship stuff.

There were parts that had me all hot and bothered. I have to say that their scenes were pretty damn hot! I know for some him calling her “Missy” and “girl” might be a turnoff but for me it was far from that! It was cute, and endearing.

There are some parts that I was laughing so hard. Cherise ALWAYS has a way to throw in a GREAT funny “party” scene. In every book so far I catch myself wondering… Does this actually happen in real life? I would love to see this.

You have to absolutely be open-minded when reading these books. You cannot be turned off by BDSM and sex because these are filled with it. There is romance, sex (lots of it and all different ways), bdsm, human trafficking, abuse, and love in each and every one of them. (Okay the human trafficking aspect didn’t come in till about book 3 I believe).

If you are looking for something that is a GREAT read! This series would be it! For those who have read Fifty Shades and wants something MORE and something BETTER this is it! But if Fifty was too much for you to handle (sex wise) then you would not enjoy these!

Who I picture as Sam 🙂

~ favorite quote~

“Fight-or-flight revs up the nerves. So does pain. Means you felt more normal. So after I’d whipped you, you were loaded with endorphins and in subspace. Turned your head right off.”…

…”Do your eyes tear up when you peel an onion?”

“Huh?” “What the heck?” “Yes”

“That’s your nerves reacting to chemicals. If you tell yourself not to cry when peeling onions, does that work?”

“No.” she whispered. Nerves and chemicals. A person couldn’t control those…

Blurb:

Savannah Gentry, now Savi Baker, escaped the torture and degradation forced upon her by a sadistic father for eleven years and has made a safe life for herself and her daughter. When her father threatens her peace of mind—and her daughter’s safety—Savi runs to Damián Orlando for protection. Their one day together eight years earlier changed both their lives and resulted in a secret she can no longer hide. But being with Damián reawakens feelings she wants buried—and stirs up an onslaught of disturbing flashbacks that leave her shaken to the core with little hope of ever being a sexual being again.

Damián has his own dragons to fight, but has never forgotten the one perfect day he spent with Savannah in a cave at the beach. He will go to the ends of the earth to protect Savi and her daughter, but can never be the whole man she deserves after a firefight in Iraq. Besides, the trauma of war and resulting PTSD has led him to find his place as the Masters at Arms Club’s favorite sadist. Savi needs someone gentle and loving, not the broken man he has become. But he sees that the lifestyle he’s come to embrace also can help Savi regain control of her life and sexuality. How can he not help redirect her negative thoughts and actions if she needs him?

My Thoughts:

I was so excited when this one came out I was lucky enough to just start the series a few months back so I didn’t have much of a wait like some people did. I know that in the Authors life there were things (like with anyone’s life) that came up and well just got in the way. I understand that people want what they want and they want it when it is told to them it will be there but life does not work that way. That being said I enjoyed this story very much I am not one of those people who have been through what Savi has but it still touched me in a way that I was able to understand how triggers work with some people. My husband when he got back from Iraq had a few of those triggers that would just take him back to that time and place. I absolutely LOVE the way that Damian worked with Savi, how he was able to just help her with everything.

“His scars were more visible, but mental scars would be a lot more painful than any physical ones.”

There were a few parts that were just hard to read because no one wants to believe that there are monsters like Savi’s father and Lyle out there. I have a daughter and I would go crazy if something like that happened. My heart hurt for Savi and all she had gone thorough growing up. Damian is so sweet and tender with her, but at the same time so possessive and all alpha and domineering. Everything a girl could ever wish for. 🙂

And one of my absolute favorite things he says to Savannah and made me fall even more in love with him.

“Those are my stretch marks-from my baby-and they’re the most beautiful marks I’ll ever put on you”

Reading more about the SM lifestyle helps my understanding as to why people want to hurt themselves I never understood I just figured it was a psychological issue but it is much more then just that. After reading a couple of books one that is about a SM relationship and one that has introduced it in a book as one of the characters is a sadist it just makes me see things differently and as Tymber Dalton and Cherise Sinclair, Kally has done a great job explaining how pain can help many who numb themselves to try and forget everything and anything that has brought on the issues that have hurt and in their mind ruined them. One of the best scenes is with Damian and Patty it helps to explain in such a way that if you didn’t understand the SM relationship you can’t NOT read that part and not get some type of understanding how it works and why it works.

This was such a great story on how two “broken” people who love eachother can help eachother overcome horrible things that have happened in their pasts. How patiance, understanding, communication and trust work out for the best in some situations. I can not wait to see more of them in the other books as the time goes by.

Then the twist …Marc and Angel… So before the book had come out I was trying to understand why Kally was posting on facebook about another something for Marc and Angel I figured we would get their HEA worked into one of the other books since there was quite a bit going on in their book and they had just gotten to know each other and she didn’t write it as if years had gone by and gave an epilogue with their HEA years later and to be honest I am happy she didn’t. I enjoy reading the unrealistic aspect of a love story but at the same time in this series it can be very realistic. And i love how it all flows well together with little time laps. Two people who just meet and are getting to know each other don’t usually profess love in a few months and get married and live happily ever after (but yes it does happen from time to time). So I do enjoy knowing that these characters are kind of real. Adam and Karla have a long history and well Damian and Savannah share a daughter and a night neither one of them can forget about, so there will be a connection between them. I can not wait to read the story for Marc and Angel. It was driving me kind of crazy not knowing what was going on with them while I was reading this story. But as you read there are hints of some things and it made me want to scream “okay Kally what are you up to now?” She
has said she is doing their story to take place during the same time as this book but she didn’t want to have their story take over Damian and Savannah’s story. I am glad that she did this because I have read books that have made that mistake and I have been left feeling like I didn’t get the closure I was hoping for on one couple or the other or feel like there are so many un-answered questions because it went so back and forth.

I am looking forward to all the stories to come that have to do with this series. Kally has said that:

Sombody’s Angel – (Marc and Angel)

“continuation of Marc and Angelina’s story in Nobody’s Angel. The storyline for the book will parallel the one in Nobody’s Perfect. (rest assured that Adam knows, though, and will play a role in Marc’s story)”

Nobody’s Dream – (Luke and Cassie’s Story)

Nobody’s Home – (Mistress Grant and Liam’s Story) à I am looking forward to this one! I have not read many femdom/domme books and I cant wait to see how this one plays out!!

Kally also says that:

“There will be others for years to come if they keep showing up at the club or in these people’s lives”

She is also working on getting the first three books in the series to printing by the end of the year with Amazon and possibly other book sellers.
