Drew Evans is a winner. Handsome and arrogant, he makes multimillion dollar business deals and seduces New York’s most beautiful women with just a smile. He has loyal friends and an indulgent family. So why has he been shuttered in his apartment for seven days, miserable and depressed?

He’ll tell you he has the flu.

But we all know that’s not really true.

Katherine Brooks is brilliant, beautiful and ambitious. She refuses to let anything – or anyone – derail her path to success. When Kate is hired as the new associate at Drew’s father’s investment banking firm, every aspect of the dashing playboy’s life is thrown into a tailspin. The professional competition she brings is unnerving, his attraction to her is distracting, his failure to entice her into his bed is exasperating.

Then, just when Drew is on the cusp of having everything he wants, his overblown confidence threatens to ruin it all. Will he be able untangle his feelings of lust and tenderness, frustration and fulfillment? Will he rise to the most important challenge of his life?

Can Drew Evans win at love?

Tangled is not your mother’s romance novel. It is an outrageous, passionate, witty narrative about a man who knows a lot about women…just not as much as he thinks he knows. As he tells his story, Drew learns the one thing he never wanted in life, is the only thing he can’t live without.

Review

I enjoyed this one. I heard it was laugh out loud funny and have to say though yes it did make me giggle a time or two, I didn’t get that full on belly laugh that some said you would get. That if you have read Tara Sivec’s Chocolate Lovers books you will love this one. I can honestly say I am not a big fan of comparing books. To me there is no other like Tara Sivec. So I went in thinking that I would laugh as hard and loud as I did with her books and that just didn’t happen. I kind of wish I never would have read all the comments and comparisons.

I will say that in all the books that I have read up to this point that have been in the man’s POV this one is done VERY well I honestly had thought a man wrote it! I laughed a time or two and it did keep me interested! I am glad that I took the time to read this one and I am looking forward to reading the others in the series.

Drew is a perv like all men and all he thinks about is sleeping around with women, he wants no commitment and just wants to have fun. It’s funny because he seems to know women well, well enough that I had instantly thought that if he tried he would be an awesome boyfriend if he actually had any desire to try.

Kate, well she has no desire to try and date Drew which of course is the ONLY thing that she needed to say…”No”, tell a man no and that thing you said no to is all they want. Try it. I swear that’s how they work. I did like her strong will and desire to do her own thing.

I am sure some would say that they did miss the female aspect since it is all through his eyes, and have to say that there isn’t much sweet awww moments that melt your heart the way others do when you get it from the females side. But I liked it. It was refreshing to get something different then my normal read…

“For those ladies out there who are listening, let me give you some free advice. If a guy, who you just met … calls you baby, sweetheart, angel or any other generic endearment … It’s because he can’t or doesn’t care to remember your actual name.”

Also with this one it is written like he is talking to you the reader which for me was a first. I know it isn’t the first time that one has been written this way but I do have to say that it was different and actually fun. It was like he was just remembering everything, we were hanging out and he was talking about it  all. It was a bit weird for me at some parts for the most part I didn’t have an issue with it, but when he would say “do you see her right there?” I actually said “Um no idiot, I am reading, I can’t see anything!” But other than that. I had no other moments of what the hell. haha

It’s funny because there are things that are said in this book that make so much sense but I had to remind myself a dude didn’t write it. BUT I swear I kept forgetting that. She did such a good job getting into Drew’s head. One of my favorite breakdowns is this one…

“… Indifference is a woman’s kiss of death. It’s the equivalent of a man not interested in sex. In either case – it’s over.”

So over all if you are looking for something that is funny and light this is a good one!
